  1. Concerns with the alternator mounting location?

Looks like 3 bolts. 2 short ones coming from the drivers side to the engine, but one that comes from the engine side and screws into the alternator - kinda strange. I'm sure somebody could make a splash guard easy enough to protect it from driving through puddles or on the highway. However...
  2. Support group for those waiting for their Ranger MY22

Wow..that doesn't even make sense. I'm so confused ha. I was just discussing this on a different thread too and was given some build seet information that showed heated seats are on the lariat, and optional on the XLT according to Ford. Along with heated mirrors. So do you mean to tell me...
  3. Concerns with the alternator mounting location?

The link in post #21 leads to another link https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/warning-mud-kills-alternators.3720/ In this one the guy only goes through a foot and a half of mud. That's not very deep at all. And considering my use is certainly possible. Anyone heard of an aftermarket...
  4. Concerns with the alternator mounting location?

Thank you for that link that provided some awesome info
  5. Support group for those waiting for their Ranger MY22

What did they remove that from??
  6. XLT vs Lariat - differences

Yeah there are two sides to that for sure. Although, personally - I hate all new beds. I miss the short beds of the old ranger and older trucks. Only the Tacoma (not a fan of that truck) has a lower bedside. I'm also short...so there is that. The ranger bed side height would require a step...
  7. Concerns with the alternator mounting location?

Inquiring minds really needed to know to make sure it wouldn't be a problem for my use (not as intense as this guy. So some more research found this. Here, at 3:45 he did not have a problem. That was pretty clean water. Here though - he did have a problem. That mud puddle doesn't seem to...
  8. XLT vs Lariat - differences

Ok cool. thank you for the info! Just wanting to make sure the truck is right before putting out that much cash. :-)
  9. XLT vs Lariat - differences

What year truck do you have? From what I read and others have confirmed the 2022 XLT 302A does have heated mirrors... Now shifter illumination - that's something I haven't thought of.
  10. Concerns with the alternator mounting location?

Yeah good point... but being it mounted so low even a foot deep puddle could put it under water - hardly considered a mud pit. But it sounds like there's been no major issues and I'm sure plenty of folks have put them through some rough situations.
  11. Concerns with the alternator mounting location?

yeah but with it being mounted low it has me wondering how it will fair for the average person even in winter snow driving conditions. the underside of my current truck gets about a half inch thick film of ice on everything...
  12. Concerns with the alternator mounting location?

I'm assuming it's just mounted on the bottom of the engine? Shouldn't the FX4 skid protect it?
  13. Concerns with the alternator mounting location?

I have see a few posts of people talking about alternator concerns and mud. Something about the alternator being mounted low to the ground. Doing a quick search for alternator stuff didn't net the info I was looking for. So I'm curious what is the deal with the alternator? Has anyone had...
  14. XLT vs Lariat - differences

I looked at the last version of this and it seemed to be different compared to what people actually got. Maybe they updated it or the truck? I thought a bunch of folks said their XLT was listed as having heated mirrors but did not... Well It's really just the sub that I would add. I only...
  15. XLT vs Lariat - differences

Hey all. So I've been busy with some hours projects (new roof, electrical, water, etc...) but started comparing in more detail the XLT and Lariat again a few days ago. It looks like there's actually very few differences between the XLT and Lariat. Maybe the 2022 year induced some changes...
  16. XLT vs Lariat - differences

Thank you all for the input :)
  17. Chrysler Going All Electric By 2028

I dont think "average 40 miles per round trip" is accurate at all. It would be interesting to see where that stat comes from but I am willing to bet those stats only include major cities. The majority of America is still quite rural. For me, my coworkers, and all my neighbors, we have an...
  18. XLT vs Lariat - differences

Care to share a photo? I thought the 'stone' was supposed to be more of a tan or sandy type color, not grey. I have not yet seen any on the lots with stone.
  19. XLT vs Lariat - differences

I am thinking the extended cab removes a couple speakers and the sub due to the shortened interior space. So far I am still leaning toward the Lariat - at this point mostly because of the heated mirrors and better sound system. At some point might swap out seats for XLT ones, or find cloth...
