I see distrust in the so-called lie-o-meter all over the place here... Is it a prolific Ford issue? I've been in a Subaru for the last 8 years and it's pretty darn close to manual tracking...
Not worth the 7 mile hwy mpg drop to me, in Florida. Costs more up front, too. Tremor looks cool, but not my first choice for a daily commuter.
I'm the type that isn't satisfied unless it's exactly what I want, though.
That truck is beast and it looks futuristic without resembling geometry homework. Really cool, price is way out of my range, but I respect it as a technological achievement.
Not my style, but neat as long as it isn't in a package I want.
What I'd really like to see is LED lighting trickle down to XLT (at least as an option) for the final model year(s).
Isn't gladiator a good bit longer and more expensive? Also hideous. Also a jeep ;) I don't like that wrangler styling on anything but a Wrangler, personally. Looks like a box caterpillar to me. Lil box big box long box
In my experience, it's large SUV and truck owners (all makes) that think they can do better than my Subaru in winter as they speed by. Wonder if they reconsider while they're relaxing in the ditch.
I think it's great to come in and bounce ideas about Ranger competitors, too. You know what kind of bias you'll get on a Ranger board, but you might find some helpful info brainstorming options. Personally, I'm having a tough time finalizing my decision so being able to think out loud helps me...
2014 Subaru Forester (redesign) going strong at 115k for me. I'm not afraid of first model years. The frontier kept the same powertrain, too.
I'm definitely going to take a look at the Frontier now with the crushingly late ETA for the Ranger redesign.
The nose dive, air damn, and lower ground clearance mean I'd have to pay the $450 for the 1" factory level, too. I haven't had a chance to drive a Colorado, but I don't like the styling.
If I could get an XLT with led lamps and push button start, I'd be driving a Ranger right now, lol.
I understand the Maverick, but it has slightly less utility than I want from a truck. The Santa Cruz just doesn't differentiate itself enough from a crossover for me to look at it seriously. As a current Ranger shopper, real threats to poach my sale are pretty much limited to Maverick, Frontier...
Got my Forester from Japan with 8 miles on it... 7 more than I would have liked :) Buying used is one thing, but I want as few butts as possible in the driver's seat before I get it when it's new. Good thing I'm not in a hurry for my future Ranger.
Is that area 51? I'd love to see that on the...
