  1. New Puppy = New Interior Mods. Favorite Dog Car Seat Covers?

Dog approved on our last road trip
  2. New Puppy = New Interior Mods. Favorite Dog Car Seat Covers?

There are a few threads on here that did a fantastic job. Maybe I'll throw mine in as well, but I've been so damn busy it's been hard to budget the time for it. It'll be real sharp...someday!
  3. New Puppy = New Interior Mods. Favorite Dog Car Seat Covers?

I have not because it is incomplete as of right now. Planning to add things like hatches to access storage, bedliner or carpet, etc.. It's pretty simple. Just finished plywood cut to fit the space with a 6-8" gap to the front seats and some 2x1 added to spots in the middle to add rigidity. I...
  4. New Puppy = New Interior Mods. Favorite Dog Car Seat Covers?

I know you said they're off the table, but honestly replacing the back seat with a platform was the best thing I ever did to transport my dog in the cab. She's a ~50lb pit bull mix and is so much more comfortable without the seats there. she's tethered to the child seat anchors on the back wall...
  5. Floor Jack

For sure. I think the max weight per axle is about 3000 lb, and that's assuming you're carrying the max payload. Just need to make sure it it has enough travel to reach the lift points.
  6. Cybertruck

I really like it. Not because I think its a good truck, but because it's very unique and I would probably have a lot of fun driving one. Also, it's a few shades of green and an anti-aircraft cannon away from a Halo Warthog.
  7. Both Leaf Springs Broke

Holy shit that's crazy! We definitely need to see some pictures to get an idea of how rusty the fasteners may have gotten in the past 5 years. Maybe the dips at the boat launch and the road salt took their toll. Unexpected for sure, but not impossible.
  8. What the hell is this??

One man's Ranger is another man's (mouse's) house
  9. NEW: Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac RT

Can confirm the Duratrac is excellent in snow. It is one of the worst wearing tires I've ever had, but I think this is just a characteristic of hybrid tires. My dad is having a similar experience with Ridge Grapplers on his F150. Both are getting some cupping after ~20k-30k miles. Gotta be...
  10. 100 K

I can only recommend you follow the manufacturer service schedule. Anything outside of that is extra. Changing fluid technically shouldn't hurt anything except your wallet. There are many many threads on the process on this site and a couple videos on YT to show you how to do it. I'm changing...
  11. 100 K

Yeah I'm not buying it. Guy didn't even mention 30k miles trans fluid changes! I just hit 90k and I'm certain it's going to fail any minute now Unjoking: I will be doing a fluid change soon. Not dropping the pan, just pumping out old and adding in the new. Then dropping the pan and replacing...
  12. Best year for 5g ranger

Completely different drivetrain, unique body panels, different component supply, different bumper materials, etc.. they look similar and share many designs, but they are different trucks.
  13. Best year for 5g ranger

2019 models have a few features that the later years do not. Hood lift struts, aluminum steering knuckles are some examples. Otherwise there isn't much to think about. Might get a better interest rate on a newer model if you're financing I guess. Nearly 100k miles on my 2019, nothing broke that...
  14. Mountain Bike in Bed with Shell

I've got a medium slash and I have to cock it sideways to close the tailgate when I use my thru axle mount. My 27.5" wheeled hardtail fits straight with the tailgate closed when I deflate the rear tire. No pics of the slash loaded up, but here's the hardtail. Obviously the handlebars wouldn't...
  15. Suspension at 50k?

Dog don't pay $2k to replace shocks. It's a little more involved than a brake job, but not much more. You can buy premium shocks and install yourself for like half the cost.
  16. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Just drove it to work and it was pretty nice! Most of the office was out of town or "working from home" so I drove on the grass a little bit
  17. Ford performance-OME overlanding or Fox?

Leaf spring upgrades are always fun, but not really needed for what you're doing. I have the Fox 2.0 kit and stock leafs and I only ever get any squat when I have the bed loaded full of material. Trailers don't seem to contribute much. The OME stuff looks good and there is a clear advantage to...
  18. Pizza Cutters, anyone?

255/80r17 will fit Biggest problem most people have fitting bigger tires is the width. Gotta adjust wheel offset to make a wider tire clear the steering knuckle, but then you push the tire out into the crash bar or frame when you turn. You don't have the same problem going skinny, then the lift...
  19. How are your Fox shocks doing?

The rear axle can be a little jumpy with an empty bed, not unique to the Tremor. If you don't like it, add a few sandbags and see how it feels. High tire pressure can definitely contribute, too.
  20. How are your Fox shocks doing?

You can run the OEM shocks as long as you want or until they break. Items like shocks can last the life of the vehicle.
