Well, I won an auction today for a Colt 1849 Pocket model. Except that, by mistake, I won 2 auctions.
If anybody wants a black powder revolver made in 1856 or 1871, let me know.
It'll probably be a week or so before I get them. I look forward to shooting them.
I keep all of my brass, thinking I'll start reloading someday, but haven't had the gumption to do it yet.
Seems kinda fun in a nerdy sorta way.
How'd the inaugural run go?
late response, but I carry two when in the woods: a .45ACP Glock 30. It's 10+1 rounds. I have an extra mag or two handy. It eats recoil pretty well, and I figure it would handle most things I come across. It's a little heavy loaded - gotta cinch my belt tight to keep my pants up.
The other...
sorry, checking in after awhile away. I remembered when this happened, as I'm not too far from there. If I recall, the guy had a weapon, and got into a mini-shootout with the women.
I frequent the National Forest in GA. I am always a little conflicted about how much is too much to bring...
I've been looking at some these on auction websites, and I've been tempted. But, I am still trying to acquire a Colt 1849, so I've held off.
I picked up a Remington 1858 army replica. Still looking for an original of one of those also. For now, though, that forced me to get everything else...
I didn't buy a repair kit. The first time, it was wonked up pretty bad, so I had to take it apart to fix it. Just used the same boot, aligned the bearings, packed it with grease, and closed it up with some steel tie things.
The new one was about $200 I think. I didn't feel like fooling with...
with 3 inches you'd be about level. I've never been a fan of puck levels, for no good particular reason, because I don't really know if they're good or not.
I will tell you one thing if you are going to DIY it - tread carefully, and don't separate your CV joint.
I have a replacement CV axle...
TBH, not sure.
I have it pointed down just a tad, so it's bright up close when the bright lights are on, since those shine out into space. When the low beams are on, it spreads a little more light left and right than the low beams do.
If the bar I had in there was brighter, maybe it'd put...
I had this in there, but had to take it out to put winch in.
I took off the skid plate, them just found a bolt on each side to connect it to. I got a piece of punched flat bar from home depot, painted it black, and bent it to connect the ends of the light to the bolts.
I did the same thing...
hopefully this will help. I just bought a steel strap with slots in it from home depot, painted in it black, and bent it to fit. I had, at first, just done it from the hood side. Took off that plastic piece over the fan, and found a few screws behind there to bolt it to.
That was ok, but I...
I installed the Livernois tune the same day I put the tires on, so I don't know.
I average around 20 mpg now. The tune also let me adjust for tire size to get speedo right.
So, mine is plenty peppy and has plenty of power as it is, but no idea what it's like w/o the tune, sorry.
Edit: I...
