Well its Oct 2, and they replaced the FRONT DRIVESHAFT. They told me all along it was the front left axle. Once I took possession of the truck after the work was done I looked underneath to check out my new front axle. To my surprise, it was rusty and matched the other side. I also spotted some...
Finally, the service person called from the dealer and informed me they can replace the axle on Oct. 2. That's good, because man it's making a lot of noise on sharp turns.
I should clarify, they released the truck back to me to drive on the bad axle (back in July). Sure, they offered a loaner when they said I can pay $30/day for a max of 10 days and after that, Ford may or may not reimburse me. No thanks!
So I'm driving the truck when I must, but I don't like...
On July 11, I brought my Ranger into the dealer to hear the axle noise I just started noticing. They deemed the front axle bad and ordered a replacement. I was told it wasn't expected to become available until Aug 28. Aug came and went. They are now telling me they expect it to become available...
I would estimate it went up by at least an inch. Since I wasn't expecting it I didn't measure before hand.
I guess this height change means I'll be forking over a bunch more money to do the fronts. I hear it's a tough job so I'll pay someone to do it.
Well, I just did this. Installed rear Bilstein 5100's. Sits strangely high in the back now. Will this settle down a bit??
As for the ride, this makes such a big difference. I think the transmission is even smoother.. somehow. Firmer, but most of the harshness is gone but I suppose I'm preaching...
Well, he finally received his new Maverick Lariat and LOVES it. I love it too and plan to keep my 2024 no-commitment order. Seems to me it rides like a Fusion but has a pretty useful bed, especially with the tailgate down where it becomes a 6ft bed. Anyway like I mentioned before, Dad will just...
I'm happy to announce I can now finally hear the turbo. Maybe its just had to break in? Anyway whenever I give it more than say 40% throttle, I can hear a whooshing of air in the cabin. Its slight, but I can hear it. Makes me want to add an intake. ?
I'm a very slow driver, but I'm just really curious about this. We must have some lead foot drivers in here.
There's a school of thought that says "a redline a day keeps the mechanic away" although I'm not sure that's true. ?
^NOT ME
He said it shifted too much. Keeping in mind, he only drove it about 1 mile to a shop where he dropped me off to have some work done to a different car of mine. Asked if he wanted to drive it back and he said NO. He loves that it sits up really high (a monster truck he said) and likes literally...
Ha I was a little afraid my comment would offend. Actually, I'd say he's elderly based on his physical health condition. There have been some setbacks. But no, 75 is not elderly per se.
Thanks for the replies. My dad is getting a Lariat 2.0 8sp Maverick and definitely not the CVT offered in the hybrid. His main concern after driving my Ranger was if the Maverick's 8sp was similar, that could be a problem.
In general, he said my truck shifted way too much and his other...
My dad test drove my 2022 Ranger and absolutely hates the transmission but loves the truck and I love the truck but the transmission makes me very nervous. He has also ordered a 23 Maverick but it hasn't arrived yet. Wondering what the odds are he'll hate the transmission in the Maverick because...
Sorry I meant front left. That's where the noise is and that's the "u joint" they're replacing. Their words not mine. I guess they mean cv axle.
And the truck is totally stock.
At low speeds with the window down, I can hear a swish swish swish rubbing noise coming from the front left area. Was able to reproduce the noise with engine off coasting down hill.
It took two attempts, but I got the dealership mechanic to hear it as well. 15min later they diagnosed it as a...
OP dont know if you saw my post or not asking if you're in Robbinsville but the reason I was asking is I'm looking for some off road spots around here and I dont know of ANY other than forest roads which are just a little gravel that a corolla can handle.
