Exactly @parkranger This whole ordeal has me fuming, I just want my truck back... Ford asked if I had a check engine light before the red Oil Pressure light came on with all the clanking and stuff... No, no check engine light... I hope 5 Star can get into the details...
Phil, is that something I can request to have done? (Field Service Engineer) etc... will that cost me more or is that a standard through Ford with all Warranty claims??
D Fresh, thats a good thought on the Maps, i did notice a different file extension on each new Map... never thought of that... the blanket sweep from Ford is what has me pissed... “all the mods” ?
Thank you Phil, I’ve been wondering the same thing, and you mentioned “Field Service Engineer” involvement? Never heard of that before and now you really got me wondering... Since you worked for Ford, is that a norm on warranty claims? Field Service Engineer etc?? I just want my truck back...
I paid for the initial tear down of $1600 to tell me what specific mod caused the failure... No returned phone calls, my wife would leave a message (1 message) daily to return a call. They then quoted $2000 for additional tear down to specifically see what ”mod” caused the failure... If you...
I also own a Golf R with an APR Stage 2+ Tune, with an AWE Tuning exhaust and hidden button inside to flow full exhaust... I think I know what I’m doing D Fresh... just saying
With that being said, about adding cold air intake, etc. I did request a new “flash” to upgrade my software for all my new components added. Every time I upgraded my engine, I upgraded my soft ware.. Just saying...
That’s funny that you caught that, because I was giggling to myself as I typed Forum Queen... I understand everyone’s sides on this topic. I’m not trying to gain anything from this, I just want a fair shot... ?
OK guys, we’re going off topic again... I received a low oil pressure light, when the clanking motor started... Ford asked if I had a “check engine” light before hand... No... keep it on topic ?
I apologize Ranger, I’m on edge at the moment, and your comment about checking my oil level etc... seriously?? My truck is pristine... your comments are what set me off. You could eat off my engine, cause it’s so clean. Lol.. You’ve supported me before, and I thank you for that, I’m just running...
@RANGER PRIDE I’ve updated... and as I’ve said before, I work shift work, and overtime... and I’m not a Forum Queen... I will update this forum when I can, with updated information... I’m just as curious as everyone else, to see where this goes... throw your stones elsewhere if you want to bitch...
UPDATE: after running circles around with Ford Dealer Mac Haik and Ford Customer Service, no one giving me pictures of said damage, no return phone calls etc.. and the still, blanket sweep of “all the mods”, I’ve reached out to Stage 3 Motorsports for some help... I’m currently working with the...
To be honest with all of you, the thread went way off course, when I wasn’t active in this thread due to work etc... inactivity from Ford etc... when I logged in, it was post of motors, bikes, etc.., and I had some fun... so let’s reign it in... I’ll post my results as promised, understand my...
To everyone following this, still haven’t heard from Ford about what actually caused the failure.. I called 5 Star Tuning, they returned my call, and said to speak with Stage 3 Motorsports for the warranty... We had the freeze come through Texas, and with work etc., this moved to the back...
I can understand the 180 mph... I pulled it on I-45 to max it out... Crotch rockets made a gentleman’s agreement to limit top speed to 180 mph, but 0-60 etc was on the table... this was my Kawasaki
ZX-10R... fastest bike I’ve ever owned...
Just spoke with 5 Star Tuning, and told them that Ford blames “All the Mods” as I asked what specific “MOD” caused my engine to fail... also told 5 Star that I purchased their warranty... I was put on hold, and told them, I don’t believe it’s the tune... he pulled up my data etc... they’ll get...
