  1. Feeling Frustrated

Starting to see more and more here in Central Texas. Shouldn't be too much longer.
  2. Things I feel are missing/or needed on a Ranger

Be interesting to see what the fuel economy drops to when towing as it relates to having to stop frequently to fill up. My buddies F150 with 2.7 with the 23 gallon tank averages around 10 mpg when towing a boat. We typically stop every couple hundred miles or so to fuel up to avoid fuel pump...
  3. Trail control and Diff. lock on non FX4 models

As a side note the guys on the F150forum work all kinds of magic with a FORscan tool adding features from higher trim lines and changing preferences like the double honk. Perhaps a sticky would be warranted of features added or modified.
  4. Your Thoughts after First Test Drive

I did the test drive as part of the Ranger drive event. I drove a Lariat 4x4, which drove nicely.
  5. Fitting into garage

Hah, you can always cut the sheetrock and square out the 2x4s to allow room for the bumper to press in. Pick up a few inches that way. Just saying. Helped my buddy do that so his F150 with a ranch hand bumper guard would fit. Just kidding (sort of), the Ranger is shaping up to be a solid...
  6. 2019 Ford Ranger Reviews Compilation

Initial leaks for the Gladiator reported it did not have a brake controller. On the on-line configurator they added the option. The brake controller replaces the 12v lighter. I think something similar would be great on the Ranger. It is adjustable by pushing and turning instead of the...
  7. Supercab or Supercrew decision

True, but personally I would not order a vehicle that I had not sat in or driven if I was unsure.
  8. Supercab or Supercrew decision

My recommendation would be to wait for both trucks to get in your local dealership and sit/test drive them before ordering. Don't rush yourself, give yourself enough time to get what you really want. I've also seen prices drop fairly quickly on dealer inventory on new roll outs (before ordered...
  9. 2019 Ford Ranger Reviews Compilation

It's basically the same size as the SportTrac, which is 210"Lx73"Wx71"H.
  10. MPG Info Coming Soon

Regardless of the EPA numbers, the lifetime real world numbers on the Drive event Rangers are solid. From what I drove and have read on the forums from other testers, 26 MPG HWY with the 4x4 is attainable, as is 22 mixed.
  11. Midsize Truck Comparison: Ranger vs Tacoma, Gladiator, Colorado, Canyon, Frontier

Went to the Fort Worth Auto show yesterday for my Ranger test drive. Test drive went fairly quick as it was raining and not very many people wanted to walk to a covered tent area to wait their turn. They had a few a trucks going and I ended up in a Lariat 4x4 FX4. For comparisons sake, I am 6'...
  12. Cloth vs Leather seat comfort

I'm sure Katzkins will have a nice leather seat cover for the XLT. A lot of the F150 guys are very happy with them. I attached an F150 XLT example. Probably be able to get them purchased and installed for around $1200. They have lots of styles, I'd think something sporty would go best.
  13. Midsize Truck Comparison: Ranger vs Tacoma, Gladiator, Colorado, Canyon, Frontier

Comparison sheet is coming together. I did see a 22 gallon fuel tank the Gladiator. If anything, I hope the Gladiator, TRD, ZR2, and Bison motivate Ford to get a US Ranger Raptor. https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/2020-jeep-gladiator-specifications-sheet-feature-availability.8468/
  14. Midsize Truck Comparison: Ranger vs Tacoma, Gladiator, Colorado, Canyon, Frontier

Yep, I knew what you meant. In all fairness to you, the weld criticism is warranted and you could have also mentioned the death wobble for good measure. Shouldn’t happen on any vehicle. I was even more surprised Subaru had similar issues with the Ascent. Seems like the robots aren’t smart...
  15. Midsize Truck Comparison: Ranger vs Tacoma, Gladiator, Colorado, Canyon, Frontier

Thanks, I'll post the link for those that are interested...
  16. Midsize Truck Comparison: Ranger vs Tacoma, Gladiator, Colorado, Canyon, Frontier

Ranger hasn't released the payload and tow specs across all trims that I am aware of. I just checking the ford towing guide and the website states the numbers will be released in December. Granted, I could have missed it, but I'd caution you taking the max values across all trims. Some of the...
  17. Midsize Truck Comparison: Ranger vs Tacoma, Gladiator, Colorado, Canyon, Frontier

Did a quick check on KBB.com for 2008 Ranger FX4 crew 4x4 and 2008 Sahara 4 Door 4x4 and found the Sahara held 52% of it's value vrs the Ranger 39%. Ford has had it's share of recalls and ecoboost failures.. All manufactures do.
  18. Midsize Truck Comparison: Ranger vs Tacoma, Gladiator, Colorado, Canyon, Frontier

Think you’re pretty close. I’m going to factor in depreciation over 5 to 10 years as well. I’d say the ranger will drop by by about 35% based on the Colorado LT Z71. Im betting the JT does a lot better.
  19. 2019 Ford Ranger vs F150 Visual Comparison

I saw the Ranger last year at the Auto show, it's a lot smaller and narrower than the F150. That pic is deceptive. It is the same size as the Tacoma and GM twins and narrower than the Ridgeline.
  20. Things I feel are missing/or needed on a Ranger

Speaking of F-150 Lariat, right now it would cost me more to order the Ranger Lariat 4x4 than the Lariat F150 4x4. I listed the Lariat F150 4x4 below (my region) that can be had for 40k, which is 3k under the lowest advertised Ranger Lariat 4x4 (43K) in my region. I'm sure I can get 3k or so...
