Mr. Phil,
I was trying to say that it would be nice if the same display would come up when driving in Sport Mode. That way you could watch your progression through the gears. ?
I've been using Sport from time to time and it does help when driving very slowly. I don't especially like it for automatic use on regular roads, though. It seems to want to stay in the lower gears for a little too long (in my opinion!).
Yeah, I have to drive through parking lots at the grocery stores, Home Depot, etc. and I'm afraid to go any faster for fear that a kid might run out in front of me or somebody will start backing out of a space without making sure the coast is clear. Otherwise, I am driving a wee bit faster.
Okay, guys, I tried going straight to Sport from a dead stop. It will go there only if I first stop at Drive for a moment and then move on down to Sport. I guess I need to get out the owner's manual again and re-read the section on the transmission. If only the truck didn't seem to "lug" at...
I did hold the button down and on the advice of another forum member, I've started using S when driving slowly on city streets and in store parking lots. It keeps the truck from jerking and lugging the engine. It seems to want to use fifth or sixth gear at around 25MPH in Drive.
Starting off in our driveway, I tried a couple of times to go straight to S, but it wouldn't pull all the way down. I had to start in Drive and then change to Sport. That's really all I know to say about it. Thanks for your reply.
I like most everything about my 2020 Lariat. My only complaint is that it seems to "lug" at low speeds. Most of my driving is local and slow and it seems to want to use fifth gear at 25MPH. I think a lower gear might be better. The truck is lightyears ahead of the 2016 Canyon SLT that it...
When I ordered mine, we went through the list of options and then came to a consensus on the price. After we shook hands, I left. No money involved until I took delivery.
The dealer's attitude about this makes no sense. Lariats comes with sensors. If there's no harness there, somebody messed up. Keep hounding them and Ford CS. Somebody's going to eventually have to make this right.
Since the COVID pandemic, we've been staying at home more the last few months. Our vehicles have never been cleaner or shinier. Unfortunately, my wife's Explorer got rear-ended yesterday at the stop sign within sight of our house. Naturally, they didn't have insurance.
