Brutal, do you use tire inserts? I finally put one in the back and it makes a big difference. Adds protection and lateral support if you run larger volume tires.
The braking could definitely be more consistent, mine has felt a bit mushy at times as well. The good news is that after 7300 miles the brakes feel better and I hardly notice them anymore. Hopefully it is not just because I have adapted my driving to bad brakes!
One thing I have noticed is that...
I am due for the 5,000 mile service so I will have the TSB done then. Did you have any problems just telling the dealership to do it or did you need to go about it in a roundabout way? I have heard that dealers won't perform TSBs if you just tell them to, you need to describe the exact problem...
Same here, it's that hesitation to downshift and rough 1st to third shift under light/medium power. Transmission is perfect when driving on the spicy side :like:
My experience is identical to yours. Shuttering under light acceleration and braking. How is your transmission doing? A part of the shuttering for me is the transmission shifting roughly. For example when braking/coasting up to a stop light the downshifts are harsh and make the truck jolt a...
Issues I found related to fit and finish were a few small things on the inside and bedliner overspray in a few small spots. Panels all look good alignment wise.
The Tacoma won fuel efficiency but the ranger won off-road capability? This is the exact opposite of what all the experts on the internet have been telling me!
Thank you for the update. I was debating whether or not taking the time to drop off my truck for the TSB was worth it but it sounds like the answer is a resounding yes.
One week before I got my first scratch, no idea where it came from. A few days after that someone slammed a door into rear passenger door, left a nice dent and scratch. Since then I have a few minor scuffs that will probably polish out and two small chips from my bike tipping over. RIP exterior...
Same story as others here, my fluid tank was empty when I got it. Not that saying that has helped you in any way, but if you haven't already just fill the reservoir and see if it goes away.
I am having the same problem. I have to be VERY gentle on the brakes to come to a smooth stop. Ugh, I'll just add this to the list of things that need to be looked at.
On average the trip computer is about 1 MPG above what I calculate by hand. That being said my MPG is between 21 and 22 for my commute. For an FX4 SuperCrew Lariat in a mix of roads with lights and traffic that is not too shabby and within the advertised MPG. I don't like that the truck's...
Mine gradually calmed down over the course of 4000 miles. I finally broke down and scheduled an appointment for the TSB to be performed but in the three days leading up to it the Ranger drove very smooth and I didn't want to miss the time off work to deal with it. Anyone else had their...
Glad to hear that sound is normal, I have heard it too. With the windows down I can hear a fast clicking and a subtle whine. My understanding is that the whine is from the transmission. I actually think it sounds kind of neat, and it pairs well with the sound of the turbo (the quiet, real sound...
