Wanted to update folks since I opened this can of worms.
I never heard back from Rough Country about whether they were addressing the issue so I called back and the guy on the phone again said it was turned over to the engineers and they weren’t aware I wanted a call back. I told them I did...
Well, these are discontinued, so I’m gonna reset my sights on a set of Fuel Vapors with 35mm offset. The calculator says they should fit, especially once I replace the Rough Country Level kit with the 3” SST lift from ReadyLift (on backorder now)
My Lariat was very smooth and not "truck rough" at all with those soft Hancock tires (265/65/17) that came on it. They are like all dealer tires, made to improve the ride so folks like it on a test drive. One thing to be aware of that I didn't know until I was looking at the tires during a lift...
I have found these, which I think would look good. I know some really don't like the bead-loc look, but I do, especially with the bolt-on look fender flares.
Maybe one of the tire/wheel guys on here can give some insight into whether they will work without issue...
I am interested in finding this as well. Selecting nice aftermarket rims with correct width / offset / backspacing combination is almost rocket science. When you change offset, it changes backspacing, but it all also correlates to the new rim width you chose.
Stock Ranger rims have 55mm offset...
Yeah, I went back and saw that too. I guess I’m about to find out. I have decided, after the tie rod debacle, that I’m going all in, so I ordered a readylift SST 3” lift. Now I need some wheels and tires and airbags for hauling my trailer and I will be set.

I will look back at them and find the ones I mentioned. Sadly, it’s not a step by step because they seem to be just showcasing the trucks they do and how they look, but during the suspension sections they show the techs and you can see them disconnecting the bottom control arms instead of...
Also, the instructions go the long way around on the leveling install.
They have you disconnect the upper ball joint and darn near remove the whole assembly when all you “have” to disconnect is the tie rod and then the two bolts that connect the lower control arm to the frame, then slip the...
I have never had it happen on a vehicle until now, but I have had the Nyloc nuts get loose on machinery before if they are removed and reinstalled.
As a side note, the instructions have your torque set at 32 ft lbs., and you will be able to turn the nut more, even once it’s at proper torque...
See, that's what bothers me. I was only calling them to make them aware of the Nylok nuts and make sure that others didn't have any issues. I wasn't asking for a rebate or pitching a fit, I just felt like they should know and prevent possible issues.
If I had actually wrecked, I might have gone...
I have found a safety issue with the rough country 2.5" leveling kit though. I contacted rough country about it and then called back this morning to see what the engineers had said/found.
I had my leveling kit installed last Monday at a local shop who has a very good reputation, and who does...
