  1. Leveling kit... Help?

I don’t know why Rough Country specs that you should remove the lower bolts on the install of their kit. If you are using their kit, just jack up the truck and take a good paint pin and mark all four cams on the lower control arm bolts (I make 3, make lines on cams and body for reference) then...
  2. Leveling kit... Help?

As someone who has had both, I would tell you to spend the extra bit is cash and get the 3”SST lift from ReadyLift. I had the 2.5 from Rough Country and with the stiffer front and nothing rear, the ride quality changed. The 3” includes a 1”spacer on the rear and ads back just a touch of rake so...
  3. Leveling kit for Lariat with Off-Road package

I tried the Rough Country and had some issues but it’s ok, rides rough. I replaced it with the ReadyLift 3”SST lift (which lifts the rear 1”). It fixed the roughness. It rides factory smooth because they preserved some rake with the rear lift. I really like it and for just over $300 bucks it ads...
  4. Leveled and 33,s

I used the tire/wheel calculator to check, and both 34 and 25 offset stayed under the truck. I think 0 offset would make them stick too far out. 25 had a little more scrub radius possibility so I played it safe at 34. Its too bad you can’t go somewhere and test fit rims. That would be ideal.
  5. Leveled and 33,s

These new rims are positive 34 offset with 275/70/17’s,,,no scrub, steers and turns like factory with the lift. I almost bought rims with positive 25 offset, and feel they would have turned and steered well, but I didn’t want them to stick out too far and sling more mud and debris up the side of...
  6. Leveled and 33,s

I will say that the flares are what made me buy new rims, because the factory rims have such a severe positive offset that once the flares were on it looked a little odd,,,kinda like a guy who skips leg day,,,big up top and skinny below
  7. Leveled and 33,s

Yes sir, you remove the clips holding the factory flare, install the new flare over it and put in new clips
  8. Leveled and 33,s

Here’s another view. It shows the stance better without the trailer attached.
  9. Leveled and 33,s

They were a snap. Got them thru Ford parts at my local dealer and they came pre-assembled vs. when you buy from bushwhacker. When I got them the only people offering them was ford. I put them on in about an hour. Not I need the hood scoop and grille,,and a brush guard,,and I’m sure something...
  10. What are you guys towing?

It did push me, but not out of the lane. There were terrible cross winds anyway every time I hit a stretch of road without trees, so it was like getting passed by a semi constantly it felt like. I will be happy when I can get some airbags. Those and the anti-sway hitch should do the job...
  11. Leveled and 33,s

    ReadyLift SST 3” level/lift, BFG K02 275/70/17 tires on 17” Holeshot rims
  12. What are you guys towing?

Well, got it and made it home. 33 ft. and just under 6200 lbs. Terribly cross winds from a storm front moving through the area. As far as the towing strength, it pulled it like my big truck. Still a little different feel, especially with the cross winds, but overall,,,outstanding performance.
  13. Rough Country 2.5” level vs. Ready Lift 3” lift

I couldn’t agree more. Getting that strut back together was a strain on my limited “old man patience”,,, it was at times a colorful conversation between me and the truck about why I started all this in the first place
  14. What are you guys towing?

One of the changes I’m making to the ranger is adding less offset rims to move the tires out just a bit to give it a slightly wider footprint, which will hopefully help stability. Once someone spec’s out some rear airbags I intend to add a set to assist with the heavier tow loss, which will...
  15. What are you guys towing?

Yeah, windload is always my concern. I’m a huge fan of pop-ups, since they fold so low for towing, BUT, I’m not the only one sleeping in the thing sooo I have a bigger trailer now. I’m a tent camper, the wife is thinks of a window faces the woods, then she is camping. I will have to get used to...
  16. What are you guys towing?

I just bought a Keystone Outback Ultra-lite travel trailer that’s about 6k lbs. I go and get it Saturday, so we will see how that goes. I have to admit the pucker factor will be high until I get used to the new combo of smaller truck and trailer. Also, I’m installing a Redarc elite trailer brake...
  17. Ranger Suspension, Lift Kits, Leveling Kits

I just swapped the Rough Country level out for the ReadyLift 3” SST lift and I would tell you to not even unbox the 2”, just send it back to swap it for the 3”. The ride is so much better than with only a level. The level stiffens the front and does nothing to the rear, and you can tell a...
  18. Rough Country 2.5 Leveling Kit Install

Great write-up. From doing this a couple of times I can tell you it's faster and easier to mark the cams on the lower control arm then unbolt it from the frame and remove the tie rod from the spindle. The strut just slips out easy that way. Reverse install and reset your cams, then get her aligned.
  19. Ranger Suspension, Lift Kits, Leveling Kits

I just created a thread comparing the Rough Country level vs the ReadyLift 3”SST lift. Maybe I should have put the post here. Apologies
  20. Rough Country 2.5” level vs. Ready Lift 3” lift

all, After the debacle with the Rough Country leveling kit, I chose to replace it with the Ready Lift 3” SST lift. In doing so I have leave learned so things and wanted to share them here. First, after the initial install of the Rough Country level the first thing I noticed was that with the...
