I had a shop tech drive my truck so he could feel my driveline shudder and he noticed my transmission made a whine when shifting out of first gear. I said the sound had been there since I bought it and I thought it was just a characteristic and he just went "huh" and when no further with it. So...

I had a shop do it, but that was more than a year ago and this sound developed sometime in the last month.

The tires aren't rubbing anything, it's a much more metallic sound. My tires rubbed a little before I removed the crash bars and it's definitely not that. I have not checked the cv joints yet. @Ranger2021 how do I check the cv joints ? Just pull the boot off and look for shredded metal ?
