I’m in Santa Barbara area taken mine out to Bishop/Mammoth a few times lots of fun trails and fire roads. Seems to do pretty well for a leveling kit and some wheels/tires.
No. They will all require a resistor or BCM modification using FORScan software. I am running some switchback LEDs in my truck and I love them. I used FORScan to program the BCM.
The factory setting on the BCM only monitors the front turn signal bulbs as they are incandescent from the factory. LED should last the lifetime of the vehicle so no need for the BCM to check if they are burned out. LED’s draw such a low amount of current that it is difficult for the BCM to...
@austinb324 I also have the SCT BDX and 5-Star tunes. You are not the only one with these issues. My truck threw the P0068 as well, I was climbing a grade part throttle. My biggest problem with the tune was the harsh downshifting though. Every time I would come to a stop it would bang down into...
@ScubaSteve sounds like you would like to know if the OEM 4” xlt radio/sync system has a satellite antenna for Sirius XM radio? Or are you looking for GPS also? What head unit did you install? It may require an adapter. Thanks.
@WhiteLightning19 This is what I found for you:
Looks like the yellow and green run from the cargo lamp all the way back to the BCM.
They call connector C474 a cargo box power point, not sure if it is open or being used but might be worth a look. Good luck.
Looks like the seat bottom and backrest heaters are daisy chained together, going to require cutting and adding a wire to disable the seat bottom heater.
I did my first oil change on the truck, along with a tire rotation at 5k miles. I also vinyl wrapped the lower bumper fascia in 3m satin black. Smoked the reverse and turn signal portions of the brake lights. Did the bed lights also.
3 inch ready lift for me as well. I have a very slight vibration 35-45 and again 65-75. Nothing alarming but noticeable to me at least. Tires are bfg ko2 285/75-16. Currently running 32psi. On first alignment and wheel balance. Maybe too much angle on the front cv joints after lift/leveling?
I totally agree. I have just under 5k miles on my truck. Will be performing it’s first service sometime next week. Going to install an oil catch can at that time to try and extend the intake valve cleaning interval. I will not be using any type of intake valve cleaner through the engine. I will...
Ford’s current labor time is 1.3hrs to replace intake manifold gaskets. Gaskets list for $3.87 each. Most shops will probably charge around .5hrs for each cylinder runner to be cleaned. So looking around $350-400 total.
We do have the full BG intake valve cleaning injection system. It uses shop air to spray a fine mist into the intake manifold while the vehicle is running. The biggest problem I see is that it is connected to a vacuum line, usually from the brake booster. Which is almost always at one end of the...
I perform this job quite frequently at work. All of them chemical cleaners and tools we have tried seem rather ineffective. The best method we have found is walnut shell blasting. Requires removing the intake manifold but is by far the most effective. An oil catch can will help but buildup will...
