  1. Trifecta 2.0 leaking at bulkhead

Yeah this just keeps getting worse. Nice puddle after the storm system that came through SC Monday and now another storm front coming. No response from Extang customer service.
  2. XLT Sport - What should be my highest price paid

This. My XLT 302A was stickered at 40800 and I walked out the door for 32400 and that was BEFORE the economy was turned off.
  3. FL400 Oil filter

Once I'm out of warranty I'm swapping for the larger one as well. My 87 2.9L would clack like a tin bucket full of rocks when it first cranked up with the FL1A OEM filter on it. I moved up to the bigger FL299 (Purolator L40017 I run now) that has more capacity and the same micro rating, and...
  4. So I went to our Honda Dealer today.......

Yes, it would be the owner's manual. Taken from page 217: Towing CapacitiesIf your vehicle has a light duty trailer hitch, the maximum towing capacity is 3,500 lb (1,588 kg).If your vehicle has a heavy duty trailer hitch, use the chart that follows to find your towing capacity Seems i was...
  5. Decent Tire Shine/Dressing Product?

Poorboy's Bold'n'Brite all the way. Excellent durability and doesn't sling off, and has a nice matte black look.
  6. So I went to our Honda Dealer today.......

Not quite true. A truck can be a truck and still have a unibody. Example of the Jeep Comanche truck. The bed was removable, but it was a unibody set up with integrated frame rails. And with the metric ton package, could out haul and out perform full size trucks for decades to come. Several...
  7. So I went to our Honda Dealer today.......

This. All this. 80% of the people that buy trucks use them as a "lifestyle" vehicle. I'm guilty of it with my Jeep. WAY over built. Barely used it to it's full potential. I dropped down from a full size search for that reason. In fact, the vast majority of full size truck owners don't even...
  8. On screen text duplication

Trying to figure out if this is my phone or Sync causing the issue. Here's a little rundown: When my phone (OnePlus 7T) is connected to the truck (Sync 3.3) and I receive a text message, I get the notification on the truck dash that one has been received. I then IMMEDIATELY get another...
  9. Paint chips

I'm starting to see some chips on my Magnetic hood edge. I'm going to give this a try as well. Starting to think about getting a hood protector too...
  10. Buying put on hold.

I feel you. I absolutely HATE the feeling of a CVT and that is the new cool right now. I also have a 14 CRV and that, truly, is the finest CRV produced. That little SUV is a blast to drive and will go to hell and back getting 30mpg blasting both the AC and stereo. You see a lot of issues with...
  11. Stuck oil filter

I will never use another K&N oil filter again. I previously stated on my experience that the nut popped off when I was removing it from my older Ranger. I had to punch a screwdriver through it to get it off. I have not used them since.
  12. New vs Old, Then and Now

First vehicle, that I still have, is a 1987 XLT with the 2.9L. 290k miles on it now, lost the overdrive band at 270k but it didn't care. New transmission but just doesn't drive like it used to. Currently building a mild 5.0L EFI to swap in. No cupholders, we don't need no cupholders. Went...
  13. Buffers/Polishers

Whatever the standard plate is that comes with each machine. They work well enough for my occasional use. I just notice my arms were more tired with the Chemical Guys polisher. Or it could be that I'm getting older... I see some Poorboys World in that pic - they also have good stuff to work...
  14. Buffers/Polishers

I've used both the Porter Cable and the Chemical Guys equipment. The PC has less vibration to me, but both work extremely well. I also have good luck with the CG Hex pads. They cut nice and clean up very easy. The Ol' Red got CG V38 followed by Glossworks Glaze and a top coat of Meguiars...
  15. Stuck oil filter

The HF adapter did it first go. That sucker was on there something fierce. Thanks for that suggestion! New motorcraft is on and properly snug. The new oil has actually quieted down the engine some; enough my wife was surprised it was idling. I've had to resort to a screwdriver through the...
  16. Stuck oil filter

I may head up to HF and try that for my filter negotiation. That might work. I just cannot fathom how to swing a strap wrench in there, but I am up for that also.
  17. Stuck oil filter

Time for my first oil change. Cannot get the oil filter to budge. I've been to the parts store and tried a 73, 74, 75, and 76mm filter wrenches.. The 73 I actually have to smack to get on, but it just spins and doesn't move the filter. The new OEM filter I have is a 76mm, which I already had a...
  18. Old Man EMU

Oh that is exciting! I used OME exclusively on my Jeeps. Ride was outstanding both on and off road. I'll have to keep watch and see what they produce. I'm only looking for about 1.5" lift in the front so i'm a minority lol
  19. Seat Covers

I'm an exclusive user of covercraft covers for both my seats and vehicles. They are easy to install and very durable. Has kept the velour bench seat in my '87 looking suave since day one  I need to get a set for the newer truck soon...
