OK! Now your getting nasty. Why won't you show us how it is hooked up. You started this about about how you found a way to get this light bar to work without causing the truck to give you alarms. Then you tell us what parts you used. But, you won't show us how it is hooked up, when we asked.
Couple of questions:
1. By 1500 lb load limit do you mean the payload rating?
2. How big is your trailer (weight, length and number of axles.
3. Are you using a WDH? If so does it have sway control
5. What is your tongue weight? What is your total trailer weight.
6. Is your trailer level...
As I said the OEM tow setup has both a 4 pin and 7 pin connection on the back of the truck. Do you not have the OEM tow package?
The Teknosha website will NOT have the connections to the other parts you have said that you used.
Right it is intended to take the three wire (brake any turns) setup from the tailights on our trucks and combine it to the two wire (brake/left turn, brake/right turn) used on the 4 wire trailer plug. I'm assuming he is using the 7 to 4 pin adaptor to get a reverse light signal from the trucks 7...
I for one would like to see a full diagram (schematic) of how this is all wired together. All we have gotten so far is parts. Really want to see how the Tekonsha part is tied in to keep the truck from thinking a trailer is connected.
As @airline tech says the headlight housing is bonded together to seal it. People in the past have baked their lights to get them apart to modify the OEM Halogen lights with HID or projector elements. Not sure what this baking with do to existing electronics in your OEM housings. The other issue...
I am sorry to have diverted this thread so far off subject. I offered my suggestion to solving the problem he is having. I then, with full disclosure, gave my personal reasoning for that suggestion.
I fully expected to get some responses on both sides. Taking control away is always a touchy...
Let me give my opinion on which way I am in favor of. Change the as-built to include the parking lamps and leave your headlight switch in Auto. I cannot count the times I have come up on a vehicle on a foggy day, at dusk or driving into the evening sun that did not have taillights on. If you...
What I meant was a ASS Eliminator, it plugs in down by the switch and remembers if the ASS was turned off. Without it the ASS resets to ON after every drove cycle.
Did the previous owner install an ASS override device on the switch? They remember the last setting and don't reset on a key cycle. Might have accidentally hit the switch and turned it back on.
Really! The 5G Ranger does not have the Stop/Start feature on ACC. The Cruise drops out at like 35 mph.
My wife's Mazda has it and it works well. But, you need to pay attention and be ready to stop if in traffic.
Edited ment to say the 5G Ranger does not have Stop/Start Cruise.
I guess maybe ACC needs a setting to give you an alarm if your using it and your going it and going slower than your set speed for specific (settable) time. One more Nanny! 😂
Agreed
The only thing you can do in the IPC menus is turn off the DRLs so they do not come on when in Auto and out of park. The switch in Auto and not in park requirement is hard coded into the firmware, cannot be changed with a menu setting. To set the DRLs to work like Canada requires...
My OLM/Morimotos work perfectly with one minor exception. The startup sequence work as expected all the time, except when it is dark out and the switch is in auto. Then I only get the sequence on the driver side light and not on the passenger side light. It appears to be a timing issue between...
I agree that sucks! Really hard to say with the nighttime pics. Looks like most of the impact was to the passenger side. So yeah the frame is probably twerked. The fact it was pushed that far, while parked, means possibly the rear differential and maybe the transmission may be affected.
Lucky...
The auto drivers window is a quick fix. Just needs to be reset. Has to be done anytime the battery is disconnected. So that is normal. At least you got the start without brake issue fixed. There are a number of modules that have the VIN coded in them and anyone could be messed up. The Relearn...
