did you try the trick of plugging in a night light in the back? Also is it harmful to have the BCM off for this purpose? I am just doing city driving. No towing or off road.

look now and check top to bottom this is what happened to mine likely at the assembly line(because there was not sign of scratches or paint from hitting something). Got it fixed but dealer was just going to ignore it
