I've never understood the desire for a deeper pan. That being said, Ford can't complain about a larger pan, as long as the fluid level is correct.

I would not think the roof seams, that's a really weird place to start leaking. Check the 3rd brake light too. I have heard of those leaking.

Springs will work without anything else. You may run in to issues with the length of the shock, but you don't have to have the BP-51s. (They're called BP-51s, the 5160 are Bilstein). ARB USA would be a good place, I agree. Their customer service is friendly and knowledgable.
