Just a quick update, after cleaning the tires very well letting them stay with no coating for a couple days, i then used the Aero Cosmetics Rubber care i had purchased and its been almost 3 weeks and the tires look great, thanks to all for the tips & recommendation.
Watching this thread with interest and concern, so we had two days of heavy/moderate rainfall so it was a perfect chance to check for any leaks into the engine bay, i placed apiece of cardboard and some shop towels at the back most part near the firewall left it there overnight the next day...
I drove the return trip to what i originally did as posted in my first post the only
difference i could say is there were no slow downs from traffic or construction,
( which i think ultimately led to that high for me MPG # i got ) and i was able to keep the 75+ most of the way, it was about 17*...
Yea I found them during the beginning months of Covid when they started doing the YT thing, the Father now retired gives out a lot of tips & info, they are entertaining and come off as genuine, their site helped me out purchasing a new Camaro last month and to resist the F&I office pressure.
Gotcha, I was thinking about rain water droplets atomizing or misting or whatever its called damping the filter IDK. Just trying to be cautious.
Also i can easily move the hose end to face out from behind the honeycomb grill area and test it out.
Thanks for the reply.
Yea i agree about a larger diameter, that is still doable and as for routing i did think about the lower bumper opening but was weighing the chance of water/rain getting sucked in there.
Also i wanted to have the opening of the tube face out directly up against the inside of the grill so the...
I have tried the 89 and 93 in the past not full tanks mixed with a 1/4 tank or so of 87, don't recall what the mpg's were off hand but they were not what i posted above, ( the current fill up is 17gl's of regular)
Since getting this truck the mpg's were disappointing, ( as most know) maybe...
Not wanting to spend hundreds on a new airbox i went ahead and did my own take on the fender feed intake that's posted here on the forum but routed from the grill area where the factory intake gets its air, i used a 1.5'' tube for now because the opening next to the radiator support was only...
I have the AVS tape on (like subquark posted pics of above) and and there's a slight wind noise.
A co-worker has the ones that recess into the channel and he says he has no wind noise,
not sure if i'm going to change kinda use to it and just turn the radio a bit louder.
I think you meant to ask member Ibanezbass671 about his covers pictured above, i don't have those.
I went with Dash Design brand seat toppers and am satisfied with them, there discounted now too. This is an image from their website, i did get the same two tone black/grey color.
Looking to do this, was wondering what the purpose of the donut is if the coupler can be put in the 3'' 'opening in the fender well from the airbox?
Thanks.
IDK maybe the Simple Green cleaner i used wasn't strong enough or i need a better brush but those pics i posted above were after i cleaned them,
i'm going to try Chemical Guys Total Tire Cleaner next time and then coat with the the protectant Duke mentioned above and hopefully that will be it...
