It's interesting to watch the review from Noah at Stage 3 Motorsports when he takes the FX4 Ranger offroad for the first time at Sedona...you can see how surprised he is by the good handling and he says as much. Then he says "I guess I shouldn't say that" since his company is there to make stuff...
There was enough clearance in the back. For the front I just turned the wheels.
I was going to use my Dewalt 90 degree drive, but the problem was the length of the drill bits. I need to get some short ones.
This dealership really knows their stuff about the Ranger...if you want to learn everything about every trim level just watch this guy's youtube videos.
Recently did a 50 mile High Desert trip with a lot of washboard and smaller rocks & bumps. I was impressed...only felt the washboard at about 15-20 mph...at all other speeds it just ate it up.
Solid company...they did a good job on an Acura I brought in last year. I think they only use 3M & XPEL films, but only XPEL offers the 10 year warranty (3M is five), so I'd guess that's what you got. Not a bad price. How much did they cover?
You took off a free clear bra...and think chip repair looks great and don't mind the endless work...ok.
IMO you don't have to be "overly" concerned about chips to not want chip damage to a 40k truck. An Xpel clear bra WILL help, not "may" help...coming from someone who ran an auto paint business.
Xpel is the best choice out there right now for protection. I do it for all my cars.
If you shop around you should be able to get it done for about $800, including everything you mentioned plus headlights, grill, etc., with full wrap-around edges. I even had the installer throw in a piece below...
I kept getting the spinning circle on the Ford site to get the download...a message would come up "validating" then nothing.
It wasn't until I connected to WIFI in the truck that I was able to see the download on my computer. Don't know if this was just a coincidence.
For those cautious about drilling into their painted wheel arches, you might consider they're going to get thrashed anyway if you drive on dirt or gravel without splash guards.
I talked to AMP and they currently have no plans to make a moto version...so when I installed mine I left the bottom bar with the normal overlap, extended the middle bar a bit and the top one a bit more, to better clear a motorcycle wheel. I riveted all three bar levels on both sides for more...
I think potential issues with tonneau covers and car washes (whether commercial or at home) has to do with the chemicals used. Many car washes use high PH alkaline cleaners (to quickly remove dirt/grime) which can cause oxidation if allowed to dry on the surface of the covers, particularly in...
Agree about not using tape on the letters ... they're already friggin huge so best kept in stealth mode IMO. To get rid of them entirely and not have it looking like a hack would take bodywork and repainting.
The camera surround is the same part used on 04 - 14 camera-equipped F150s. I'd prefer...
I agree with the last review...this thing is solid and "flickable" offroad. Did about 50 miles in the High Desert outside of Bend, Oregon, and was impressed how well it did on washboard and how predictable it was when thrown into dirt and gravel corners...great vehicle for drifting. Just make...
