  1. Wife's Edge Wiper Control Weirdness

Driving my wife's '19 Ford Edge today in light rain. The intermittent wiper control seems really wacked. On the lowest setting it seems to run like it is on the second to highest setting. Bump it up one notch, and it runs like it is on the highest setting. It also seems to have a mind of it's...

  3. Speedo/Odo Calibration Question

After going up one tire size, I have been trying to zero in the speedometer calibration using my Livernois MyCalibrator. After seemingly getting extremely close MPH wise to my Garmin, I thought I would see how it did mileage wise. I plotted out a 20 mile course out of my 27ish mile commute in...
  4. Stuck Accelerator

A coworker had his accelerator stick on him yesterday in his Chevy Tahoe, and nearly burned up his brakes and tires getting it back home. He promptly had it towed to his favorite shop. They found the floormat to be the culprit! I about busted a gut laughing, you have to know this guy!
  5. Free Studded Tire

Leaving work today I heard a wap wap wap noise. Checked the tire pressure screen and one was about 3psi down. Drove over to the brewery next door (half-price case day) got out and found this.
  6. Free Under Carriage Wash

Last weekend they brined the roads in anticipation of snow, freezing rain that never came. Today got all the salt washed off. Heavy rain all day. First vid I had just passed a high water sign, assessed the situation, and proceeded on. Then immediately came across another sign and did turn...
  7. Dumb Exhaust Question

I visited a local custom exhaust shop today just to see what they had to say about a rear exit dual exhaust. The guy reccomended a Thunderbolt muffler saying it was a little louder than stock but not obnoxious. He also said he could probably take the stock muffler and create a dual exit. They...
  8. Shot up tailgate

Not sure what happened here, but a buddy sent me this rather poor picture of a Ranger with an apparent shotgun hole in the tailgate. Hard to see in the pic, but he said he could clearly see multiple small holes around the rather large hole.
  9. What's this symbol on nav?

When I am using nav (non factory, have to have a phone connected) I always see this little icon with a line through it. Anybody know what the heck it means?

  11. 40k service, and I mean 40k!

I get The Works done every 5k, (don't start on how that's too soon). So as 40k approached, I called to see if I could get in last Monday, antiicipatiing my weekend driving would put me right around 40k. They said Wed. morning was the first they could get me in. I thought crap, that will put me...
  12. My beans are NOT Italian!

I think they improperly named these beans .
  13. Ready for Ohio

I dropped the spare to check the air pressure, lubed the mechanism, flipped the tire and cranked it back up. Checked my fluids. Just had The Works done a little over 1k ago. Checked the battery took two measurements, one showed 506 CCA and 5.03mOhm IR, the second showed 822 CCA and 3.10mOhm IR...
  14. Hail Forcasted - No Garage - Improvisation

Major storms forecasted so with an upcoming trip to Ohio, the last thing we needed was two vehicles with busted windshields. So out with the mower, in as best I can with the Ranger in our shed.
  15. Warranty Thru Credit Union

It's been a while since I priced a warranty and pretty much decided not to buy one, but I recently got an email from my credit union offering a vehicle warranty through them. Price: 60 Months / 100000 Miles for $1,345.00 and $250 deductible. It's the Elite plan covering virtually all mechanical...
  16. Poll - Should forum members be allowed to post in all caps?

The use of caps should only be reserved for emphazing a point. An entire post in all caps is rude, hard to read, and extremely annoying. The excuse of posting in all caps because you are visually impaired is invalid because you read and respond to multiple other member's posts.
  17. How to pour hard to aim liquids

This is how I pour hard to aim liquids such as windshield washer fluid and chain saw bar oil that come with a foil seal. Little or no spillage. Make a large hole on the pour side and a small hole for an upper vent. .
  18. Installed Oxilam LED turn signals

I have a nice vidoe with one Oxilam and one stock turn signal with the flashers on. But not sure how to block out my plate number in a video. (is that really necessary?) So I took a couple of screen shots. Even though this was in daylight, the drivers side is definitely brighter. Plus, you can...
