Whipped up a simple rear seat platform for my dogs. Low profile and bolt on without any permanent modifications to the truck.
I used 1x1x.05" wall aluminum tubing, .25" thick HDPE and some stainless hinges so I can at my stuff under the seats. I finished it off with stainless hardware and 3d...
Oh I'm cool with nay-sayers, been doing this long enough to embrace them. I agree, if it were to fail bad things would happen if pushing, however, with the angle of where the hitch mounts, it may be pushing up on the nose of the receiver, taking the vehicle suspension and dynamics in...
I'd consider making a few of them if there's enough interest. If I can get at least five people wanting one that will make the material and manufacturing costs lower. Just making one will be pretty expensive.
Oh no doubt. Possibilities are almost endless. I've had a front hitch on my last four trucks. Use them mostly for winching but the occasional generator mount, cargo carrier or bike rack too. I also haul canoes regularly, having a bow tie down point that will not touch the paint is a plus.
Hope you all find this useful. Let me start off by saying that I didn't like the existing front hitch options that are on the market because it keeps the winch too low and will mess with approach angle. So, I decided to make my own that would fit within the bumper, giving the truck an OEM...
Update-
Roof rack, used 1 1/2" 80/20 anodized aluminum 72" long to make the rails and cross bars. I like this method because its much more versatile than any "off the shelf" roof bar system on the market. This was accomplished by adding an internal structure to the inside of the topper. I went...
Don't overthink this. the pontoon doesnt weigh what the ranger is rated for nor is the cross sectional front area too large. it has surge brakes, so you're good there. Just don't go 75mph whipping around semi tractors. I've towed a lot with my previous F-450, and F-250's and my rangers.
The...
Picked up my new topper for my truck. I absolutely love it even though it has the "food truck" vibe. I need to do something with the front to help the air get over the top.
It's nice to start with such a blank slate.
Standard ARE DCU topper, camper door, dual side doors, .035 skin, mitered...
Update for all. Just got my truck back from the dealer under warranty. needed a fuel pump. apparently the seals were pouring gas into the engine block somehow. Least I have the truck back.
Not daily, but often right now just because the oil level was over an inch above the full mark on the dipstick when I did my first oil change, just found it very odd that it was that high. I checked it one other time when I initially bought the truck.
Not very short trips, especially considering 2800 miles each month. I drive a lot of highway 72-73 mph and I accelerate with a purpose, I dont beat the truck but I make the turbo do its job here and there. 300+ miles in 5 days this week and the fuel has climbed almost 1/2" on the dipstick...
Yea I saw many other posts but not much concerning exactly how much fuel is too much fuel. I had a 2019 ranger (my wife's truck) that had a small bit over the 7500mile interval but this truck is a bit more.
I'm calling the dealer today and requested an oil analysis kit from blackstone.
Not...
Hello all. I picked up my new 2021 ranger on 12/29/21 with 23 miles on it. Last weekend I changed the oil at 2600 miles because the oil read high on the dipstick and I felt an early change never hurt. I had drained out 7.4 quarts, now not exactly sure how much over filled the crankcase was from...
