I just bought the truck used as-is a few weeks ago and it was already malfunctioning. The warranty I bought doesn't cover the camera. When I swapped the camera for a new one it was exactly the same image result, distorted then camera not available. I've never run any new install initialization...
So all the connectors appear to be in good condition. Which one refers to the BCM connector? Is that what C422 is or is it located elsewhere? I am going to grab my meter and run the camera connector check you suggested. I'll also check Forscan for any initialization. If I swap the camera itself...
That is a whole lot of data! Thank you for all of that. I do have a meter to at least do the voltage and resistance check you mentioned. The rest will take me a bit of reading on a larger screen than my phone to wrap my head around. LOL I did do the wiggle test at the bottom of the tailgate with...
I ran the tests you recommended. APIM and IPM showed no DTCs.
BCM test showed the following:
(OK) [21:43:53.847] On Demand Self-Test has been started
(WARN) [21:44:17.362] Test completed, found DTCs: B1305:01, B143B:11, B143C:11, B1448:15, B115E:08
B115E:08 appears to be related to the camera...
I had done the reset right after I got the truck in order to be able to setup FordPass. I'm getting ready to try the fuses and codes right after I finish this reply.
Thanks for that clarification. I think C422 Is the one I saw and checked then because I looked down the frame rail from the rear and it was the only one I saw. I will look again this weekend to be sure. Short of any visible corrosion or disconnect is there a cleaner you recommend using on the...
I didn't see a C411 at that position. The pigtails of the tailgate lock and camera are simply loomed together and exit the bottom of the tailgate. Would it be underneath the vehicle instead of inside the tailgate itself?
As for the C422 I didn't locate any inline connectors fore of the driver's...
These are two additional points that may have corrosion or other connection issues then I take it? And as far as a code scanner goes, is that something I can do with Forscan or would I have to take it to a dealer?
I just bought a used 2019 XLT SuperCrew. My backup camera looks like trying to watch a scrambled cable channel back in the 80s then pops up the ever-popular Camera Is Unavailable message. I've tried a replacement camera unit to no avail. Has anyone seen this and successfully fixed the issue?
