  1. Anyone run a 9 inch wide wheel with 285s?

Excellent. What offset are they? Happy with clearance between tire and arch stuff as it turns and flexes?
  2. Anyone run a 9 inch wide wheel with 285s?

RTR is trying to talk me into running their wheels. They're +30 17s that are 9 inches wide. I use 285/75-17 Toyo ATIIIs. Anyone run a similar setup? My concern is rubbing. I'm on BP-51, so about two inches of additional suspension height. Claimed advantage is dropping 10 lbs a wheel...

  4. Platform Camper Suggestions

Why the perception that GFC is lower quality? Every part that can be billet is billet. It's not just lighter than the knockoffs, but exponentially stronger too. Some feedback after owning two GFCs: you really, really don't want a sleeping area that remains open. Like any other pickup, the...
  5. Dual Battery Vid

If you don't mind charging in the bed, just using the Wolf Haus bed plug and literally any battery-in-a-box is going to be the easiest, most effective, warranty preserving solution. https://whor.us/store/p/advanced-kit Doing a real dual battery setup, as above, is very complicated.
  6. Need recommendations for aftermarket lighting

The highest performing light on this list, the OnX6+ lightbar, projects light 600yds and costs over $1,000.
  7. ( 33”+ Tires, poor mpg. ) What tune are you running on your Ranger?

You're going to lose a lot of gearing, a ton of mpgs, and all the performance above 285/75-17 without gears. Gearing disadvantage alone would undo any advantage of road. And you'd be putting enormous stress on the engine, cooling system, and transmission. I ran tire sizes and gears past...
  8. ( 33”+ Tires, poor mpg. ) What tune are you running on your Ranger?

Interesting. I'll run that past my mechanic and see if it all pencils out. Debating whether to keep the Ranger or buy a new Super Duty next year. If I stick with Ranger, I'd definitely like to get it on bigger tires via gears.
  9. ( 33”+ Tires, poor mpg. ) What tune are you running on your Ranger?

I'd strongly reconsider going with 35s until someone finally makes gears for our trucks. You'd be putting immense strain on the entire powertrain.

Oh, and we should include the KC Flex Era 4, which does ~650yds, albeit for about $650. That's starting to get into genuinely useful performance, but obviously can't compete with the Lightforce Strikers, or any other larger driving lights. Good option for people who don't drive over 45 or so...

And let's compare that to the Rigid D Series Pro Spot, which only provide a pathetic 270yds at 1 lux for about the same price. And the BD Squadron Pro which does 340yds, again in same $ ballpark. And the Lightforce Rok40 spots which do about 200 yds for $185. Winner of the silly little pod...

So DD doesn't provide a lux distance, which is always a warning sign. Lying through omission, and all that. BUT, BD has tested them as part of their new effort to lie a little less. Well, they haven't tested the SAE versions as far as I can see, but they have tested the SS3 Pro Spot. It does...

Which lights does that apply to? Do they provide a lux distance?
  14. Need recommendations for aftermarket lighting

Another question that would probably add a ton of value is: what's the best mount for locating a pair of real driving lights in front of an otherwise stock Ranger's grill? I've never kept the oe bumper.
  15. Need recommendations for aftermarket lighting

Of course it does. But asking questions will always lead to more answers than name calling. And who knows, if we ask ourselves questions, maybe we can even all learn from each other. It's illegal to run any non dot approved lights on any public roads. Some states even ban the practice of...

Because it makes a cool photo. This seems pretty practical. And again, total cost here is less than most of the BD fog light setups you see on teh socialz.

I just don't see anything to address? But, I am from Kennesaw, and haven't visited in way too long. I'll buy all the beers if you can beat this $1,300 setup at any budget:
