So far I am thinking OME medium leaf springs in the rear for weight and how I use the truck, ARB front bumper with winch, new UCA’s for better alignment and clearing suspension / tires, and most likely OME front to compensate for the weight of the bumper.
everyone’s advice and experience is...
Thanks for the advice, your truck looks great. What front suspension are you running with the arb front bumper? Or was your advice for OME medium all the way around?
I know you have to trim or cut the bottom of the bed, which is a consideration. I think it’s aluminum so rust isn’t an issue and I don’t think there is any attaching after, just removal. Resale is absolutely something to think about as that mod is not for everyone.
I am getting lots of good...
I was originally concerned about this as well because I sleep in there, I asked for a higher quality seal be used between the truck and topper and then decided to try it to see, a tiny bit of dust gets in near the tail gate but not much at all. I do sleep on a platform and have a rubber Matt...
solid advice, I think UCA’s will be part of my upgrades this spring. I was thinking about hybrid tires, are they branding them at RT’s “rough terrain”?
I totally agree, rear leafs springs will be a definite. Also solid advice to add the bumpers / weight first and then do the springs.
do you have a pict of the coastal front bumper? How do you like it, does the adaptive cruise etc work with it?
cool, the sense I am getting is exactly that, icon leans more towards for desert pre runner stuff where as OME leans towards more overland builds. My use leans towards overland mild rock crawler, although I would like to keep it light whenever possible.
I hope to do some final additions this...
This is all much appreciated info, it all helps me come to a decision and focus on the needed vs wanted. One thing that comes around is the added weight of an arb front bumper and winch, most of this swims around compensating this fact. It half turns me towards a lighter bumper but I do...
Cool truck. Yes I am thinking of coastal Offroad’s rear bumper, how do you like it? They are local for me so would be pretty straightforward. It seems like you had icon leafs and switched to OME? If so, How come? Why did you go with the ARB front bumper and not the coastal off-road front...
Thank you, yes I think moving to AT instead of MT will better suit my actual use of the truck.
my only concern with OME BP51 is that I will loose a bit of height in the front. Right now I am sitting at about 2.5 - 3” of lift, measuring 38” ground to wheel well 38” mid tire to wheel well is 22 3/4”.
Hello,
I am looking for some advice on how to finish my 2020 ford ranger build?
Use:
daily driver - weekend warrior, I do encounter mid level rock crawling trails. I don’t encounter high speed desert whoops, but like to cruise logging roads with no worries and clear rocks
Current setup...
Changed the tool racks to be mounted on the sides instead of the roof, having the slides vertical allows for the weight rating of 500lbs otherwise when pulled out the bow / bend. Next I will work out electric latches.
Just got the drawer slides mounted for the tool racks, now I will mount them to the slides with a hinge and figure out a latching setup to secure them to the sides.
