Cool tent! Ya a lot of the time I really appreciate when things are simple. It really seems that the phases go: start simple, start getting close to over build things, and finally pull back by simplifying to find some balance. At least that’s how it goes for me. Some of my favourite setups...
I completed an aluminum no weld fridge slide with tilt! Super fun and works great.
I put the YouTube video for the build here https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/diy-projects-for-rangers.40312/
I wanted to start a new post where we can share DIY projects. Not installing products but builds you've done that make how you use your ranger better!
Here is a fridge slide I made, no weld
I added new shocks for better ride quality.
For weight, sagging in the rear, Was down about an inch with the RTT on, I went with bds lift shackles because I am happy with the ride, just wanted it not sagging…. And budget. lol. Works great, I have an are canopy and RTT.
Cool, it’s a fun project. My ammo can was powder coated to start with so I didn’t strip the paint as I figured it could handle the heat, so far so good. let me know if you want any links for stuff I used etc.
Mine is doing something similar, a shudder when light to normal braking, I doubt mine has anything to do with abs, feels more like a rotor issue. Will check it next time it goes in.
no offence, but I kinda feel like you are the human version of Ai lol. The frenchy pre Ai, like clippy *joking*
In all seriousness I am sure modifying your vehicle in any way can stress stock parts. I doubt lifting the back 1 inch will cause an issue and don’t see how blocks vs shackles would...
Ok thanks for the feedback. So you have experience where your u joints failed or leafs wore out prematurely? Ouch!
I wonder, how many have actually had this experience with a simple 1” lift ? Also since the truck was sagging by about 1”, wouldn’t that mean I simply corrected that issue making...
Can you elaborate on that? Which brand of shackles, what vehicle, what went wrong or didn't work, what weight at the back etc?
I am just curious as this is the first time I've tried them, so far I am happy.
Yes I was agonizing on how to approach it as well, new leafs, air bags etc. it came down to budget for me, and I am very happy so far. No issues yet, they are doing exactly what I needed them to do, lift the rear up about an inch. I figure that before I leveled it, that’s how the suspension is...
