  1. New (to us) Adventure Truck

Wow someone used logic and spoiled our fun. ?
  2. Anyone Try the new Anzo Headlights?

I can tell you why almost all of the aftermarket replacement lights have a DRL harness of some kind. It is to avoid the need to have Forscan to make adjustments to how the truck handles the DRL lamps. They simply take control of the DRLs within the light and have them on any time the truck is...
  3. Ford Pass App

Just realized the owners manual is no longer in the app! At least I can't find it. I don't use it often but it was handy when away from my truck, or if it nasty out, like now, and didn't want to go out to get the printed one. Yes, my 2019 came with one WITH a cover. ?
  4. Weight Distribution Hitch Question

I deffer to the man with much more towing experience than I on the additional friction sway control device. From my personal experience of using only a sway bar before deciding I really needed a WDH, I made my personal decision to get a hitch with built-in sway control. Whether I really need...
  5. New (to us) Adventure Truck

Welcome, nice truck, l like the Cactus Grey color, wasn't available when I got my 2019 XLT FX4 in Lightning Blue. You came to the right place for help spending your money, so watch your wallet.
  6. Weight Distribution Hitch Question

This is a very loaded question. The fact is most of the reasonably priced hitches all work the same. Basically a hitch head with some manner of spring bars sized based on tongue weight/trailer weight. The Equal-I-Zer and the E2 probably the most popular. I have not tried the Anderson hitch, but...
  7. What did you receive in the mail today for your Ranger?

We got all the way up to 30 today Heat wave ! ?
  8. Towing 6Klbs for 1400 Miles?

Very well said. The video, basically a promotional video for a product. It really just explains the AFFECT a WDH has on the axle loading of the tow vehicle and the trailer. As you said the hitch uses the spring bars to create a torsional force to distribute the tongue weight. It does not and...
  9. Towing 6Klbs for 1400 Miles?

The number of axles has nothing to do with it. I'm pretty sure Uhaul with you installing a WDH on their trailer. Not to mention the cost for a one time use. Also you are correct they don't play well with surge brakes. The WDH does not reduce the GVWR(ating) of the truck. In fact the additional...
  10. Towing 6Klbs for 1400 Miles?

In the OPs situation, using a rented Uhaul trailer, using a WDH is not an option. But to your points. A WDH doesn't not reduce the tongue weight, it simply, as the name implies distributes the tongue weight by turn to normally flexible hitch connection into a vertically semi-ridged connection...
  11. battery

I personally have had the negative battery terminal off on my 2019 XLT multiple times. The most recent was while replacing my headlights. I have experienced no issues with doing that. The only issues I have heard with anyone doing that is having to reset the driver side window auto up down...
  12. What did you do to your Ranger today?

You really need to drive it more. If it's growing mildew, next it will start putting down roots. ?
  13. How to get the fog lights to work with the DRLs

Not sure about this either, but one of the menu items for "DRL Configuration" is "Not Defined". This along with including Parklamps might do what you want.
  14. Towing 6Klbs for 1400 Miles?

Reading the OPs initial post and all the suggestions to it, I do have a couple of concerns. First of all with the OP having 800 lbs of payload in the truck he is using around half of his available payload not counting tongue weight. Keep as much of the non-people weight in the cab or at least in...
  15. battery

    Ditto??
  16. Drive shaft replacement issues and other nightmares

I haven't relubed my spline joint yet, on the list for next spring when it warms up again. ? they also need to make sure and mark the flange at the differential too.
  17. Drive shaft replacement issues and other nightmares

Yeah, I am pretty sure the slip joint splines a keyed to only fit one way, I'm not sure about the yoke to the front shaft though. The yoke on the front shaft needs to be pressed off to change the bearing. I do know there is an intentional, what has been called, out of phase setting on the front...
  18. How to get the fog lights to work with the DRLs

What is the menu option set to for the "Allowed DRL Options" item? It is in the beginning of the BCM menus. It needs to be set to "All Options". Otherwise Low Beams is the only selection it will accept.
  19. Genuine Ford Parts, Accessories & Ford Performance

I thought it was required of auto manufacturers to have replacement parts available for a number of years after a model was discontinued. The 5G has only been discontinued for a year!
  20. Genuine Ford Parts, Accessories & Ford Performance

So Benny, you are saying that Ford has officially discontinued the trailer brake controller kit for the 5G Ranger! What are people without one suppose to do to get a controller that works with the AEB? Redarc does not make the Lumen module or the harness.
