The Australian rangers have a single through bolt on the bottom of the strut, ours has 2 splined studs; see pic. I don’t think we can do it without removing everything. Correct me if I’m wrong but there won’t be enough clearance to remove the strut with just the tie rod disconnected.
I didn’t want to deal with ripping the cv boot or pulling out the axle. I guess I should’ve went your route but I decided to just throw it back on for the night. So, a few hours wasted lol

Bought this at Costco. $21. Seems pretty high quality too. Waterproof, mesh between front seats. I can’t find it on Costco’s website and I can’t seem to find it anywhere else. I’ll keep looking for a link.
Did you drive a FX4 equipped model? They do ride much more “truckish” than a standard 4x4 or 2wd. My opinion on the appearance.. you can always make it look better, can’t (really) change the power train. One of the main reasons I went with the Ranger, and the aesthetics really grew on me.
