All,
Took my 24' Lariat FX4 on a short road trip this summer. When I left my truck had just a little more than 2k miles on it. When I finished it was a little over 8200 miles. I averaged 24.5 mpg for the trip. The high temp I hit was 113° in central Texas and a low of 49° in Cody, WY. I had...
I still have the factory running boards on my lariat and am thinking of removing them. Anyone decide to remove them? I do have the front mud guards. Any inputs? Pro's & Cons of removing them?
Got my Motorcraft mud flaps for the front of my Ranger today and decided to install them right away. Living on a gravel driveway can wreck havoc on the rocker panels. These have to be one of the easiest installs to do.
All you need is a small Phillips screwdriver and a plastic body panel screw...
Finally got bed lined this morning. Took about 3 hrs total. It's the mid grade with the enhanced uv protection. It was... not cheap. But you pay for what you get. They sprayed up under the side rails and took the lights out, tonneau side rails out and plugged all the threaded holes. I did ask...
I just want to thank you all for keeping up the influence of me spending my money on things "I NEED!" Lol. Today so far it has been the stubby antenna and a solar panel for my Jackery box. Still looking at the 1 piece black lug nuts. My wife, God rest her soul, would be wringing my neck right...
I'm studying for my Ham Radio certificate. One I get my certificate how hard is it to learn the ins/outs of using them?
I am trying to keep my mind occupied instead of thinking of the constant of missing my wife.
I know there are quite a few on here with radios mounted.
I had GMRS in my Bronco...
I have the engine cover for my Ranger but don't have the mounting nuts and bolts. Does anyone know the sizes I need to get. Any help would be appreciated. TIA
I'm supposed to get my truck Line-xed this month. It's a toss up between it and a bed rug. I won't be doing a lot of hauling.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
TIA
Installed my tonneau cover that I got with my Ford Pass points. I had to pay $219 after using all of my points. The cover is normally $647. This cover is the low profile one. It is very easy to install since you use the factory mounting points on inside of the bedrails. It has adjusters at the...
Finally did my 1st mod to Peepers. This mod come from the heart. My wife passed away from lymphoma Nov 2nd of 2023. She fought for a long almost 2.5 yrs against it. I don't wish lymphoma or cancer on anyone. It robs families of the future. My beautiful wife was my world along with our boys.
I have been gone a few months since had traded my 2019 Ranger FX4 for a new Bronco. We'll this morning the truck I initially ordered came to the dealership. So short story...back in a new 2024 Ranger Lariat FX4. It still had the the shipping plastic on it when I went to look at it.
Will post...
To all,
First and foremost, regarding my decision on canceling my new Ranger order, thank you for all the inputs. It wasn't a rash decision but I felt it was the right thing to do given my current life situation.
I did purchase a new Bronco Outerbanks version. It will suit me for traveling and...
I posted a few weeks ago about ordering a new Lariat. I stopped by my dealer and was looking at the Bronco's and saw a really nice 24" Big Bend 4 door for a little more than the Lariat I ordered.
I was talking to the sales manager and asked if they think my truck would be built by end of...
Installed a Nextbase 222X today. I know its not the best one but it will work for now. I used the Dongar wiring kit that tucks the wiring in behind the rear view mirror. I used a pry tool to pop the corner loose on the upper cover. After figuring out how to tuck the wiring everything fit...
Since I retired at the end of June my monthly mileage has gone way down. Before I used to average 500 to 1000 miles plus per month now since the 1st of July I've driven a grand total of 60 miles. Sure does save at the gas pumps!
What's everyone's average mileage driven monthly?
Finally got around to installing my new one piece lugnuts. The Ford 2 piece ones can be a real problem taking off when they swell. I work in the automotive repair area and deal with this all the time. Same thing happens with dodge products. Whoever thought 2 piece lugnuts was a good idea!
I...
Had to change the red FX4 decals out. I think the blue looks much better on the silver. Used a grease pencil to mark the same locations as the originals. Spraying area with water makes placing the decals much easier, it also gives you some forgiveness in placing them. Should be good for at least...
Finally got my leveling kit installed. Thanks to Robby @ fordrangerlifts.com. Installed the 3" kit and am very pleased with it. Now time for larger tires!
Installed the Wolf Haus power outlet tonight. Could not get it tightened down so it wouldn't move around. Ended up having to drill 2 additional holes through the housing to fasten it tightly. Overall I am pleased with the design though.
