That's a good question. At bare minimum, it incurs unnecessary wear and tear on the starter but I have to think it puts more stress on other parts of the engine. I honestly hate everything about the auto start/stop feature. I installed the auto start/stop eliminator and have not looked back.
Ok, that makes sense . I always press the plus right out of the gate and that puts me into manual mode. I'll try allowing it to shift automatically next time.
So are you guys using sport mode to manually shift or are you just letting sport mode do its thing by driving like you would in standard drive mode? I wish it would leave the gear display up in sport mode. It switches to the tach in the left display and removes the gears from the right. That...
I took my Ranger to my dealer today and they told me that the clicking noise is a characteristic of this engine. That does not change the fact that it's annoying as hell though. :(
So has anyone hooked up the third, green wire on the module to enable auto-unfold on key fob unlock or did you use the red and blue wires only so the auto-unfolding only happens when you turn the ACC on? If you used the green wire, which wire in the bundle did you tap?
I have also noticed that the truck shutters a little when I have just started and am slowly backing out of the garage. It's like the idle is not as smooth for that period of time. Once I have backed out I never feel it again but for 30 seconds or so, it seems like it is running rough.
Yes, I have the load clicking noise also. What I dislike the most, however, is the "other" clicking noise I get inside the cab. At first I thought it was that same engine clicking but just muted because the cab is so quiet but now it sounds more like a heat shield that is loose and vibrating...
Now come all of the reasons you'll invent to go drive it. Sort of like when you were 16 and you would ask your mom if she needed anything from the grocery store. Enjoy it!
Thanks for the info on that. At least I know now that it's sort of normal. :)
I will bring it up with my dealer as well. Everything else just sounds so good and then there's that clicking, screwing it all up.
I don't think my brakes feel overly mushy. It does take a little more pedal to really stop quickly that our other vehicles but it's not so much that it feels mushy or like it won't stop safely.
I'm curious what my engine is "supposed" to sound like. When I am driving around town, taking it easy on the throttle without the radio on, I can hear two distinct sounds from the engine compartment. I hear the low, throaty sound of the engine and I hear a clicking sound. The clicking speeds...
I was in exactly the same boat. I ordered 1 few days too late for the initial offer and I received and purchased my truck just days before the new incentives dropped. I was on the phone with Ford no fewer than 6 times while my truck was on order and that didn't say boo about the upcoming...
