I just wanna share that I love this thing in the snow. Helped me get through 12" of snow up here in Calgary. So many people didn't make it out of their driveway and I was at work on time. Throw on winters and you will never get stuck unless you are really pushing your luck.
To assist with anyone's future diag of a similar issue and they stumble across this post:
Reasons stop-start doesn't operate as normal:
-A/C is on (needs compressor)
-not enough brake pressure (or it may possibly brake switch sensed)
-sport mode selected
-Battery voltage dropped below threshold...
Try your best to locate the area (may need someone to drive for you). Once you know the area, check for loose bolts or if anything moves oddly. Have you had any modifications in the rear or anything in the bed?
I believe it's just relays and where they are located. Nothing to be concerned about. You could search for the relays and put something over them to make them quieter. I'm sure other vehicles had those relays in the engine bay.
Ford aftermarket tech here!
4wd one time won't hurt. Just make sure it's not being driven constantly in 4wd on pavement. The rear locker is disengaged when cruising above 30km/h and re-engages below 30 again. 4wd is always on when switched into 4Hi but can't be disengaged above 100km/h. As long...
Oy, Calgary Alberta here! I never saw many rangers on the road then a few weeks after getting mine, I saw 5 in my neighborhood! Also I get 11.4 km/L when I'm hypermiling, but normally 8.5km/L because I have a heavy foot when merging.
This is odd as I live up north in Canada eh? Started my truck in (-22)-(-31)°F and it drove off no issue. And by no issue I mean stiff suspension, stiff parking brake and cold diff oil, and working transmission. However, it will hold gears longer so it can warm up faster. I wonder if because you...
FFS. I thought they were all aluminum and I just went out and saw mine are steel and already have some rust. Damn. Gonna have to find me some aluminum ones now. Plus UCA.
Yup! Doing a rebuild for my sister. I was bringing a bunch of her stuff with me because she was moving from northern BC to Victoria so I brought the bike to rebuild it. She had put it all together and then took it back apart to fully rebuild and now I have it. It's a DT1 variant. Not sure on the...
Also towed my toolbox when I changed jobs. Went offroading the day before as you can tell. About 1000lbs plus trailer weight. The Forester I towed was like 5300 lbs with the trailer (had a built in brake). I now have a trailer brake as I plan to rent a trailer this summer, probs 6,000-7,000lbs...
Towed the Forester about 175 Km hilly roads, but not the mountains. Barely felt it back there except when I hit bumps. The last photo I think I was at max payload. Had all 4 seats full of stuff and the bed full of stuff. Lots of it heavy like a box full of ammunition parts and a full motorcycle...
Weeee! Alberta, Canada. I use my e-brake every time I park. Maybe I shouldnt. But I park on a hill and worry my (open) locking diff will allow the truck to slide if I don't. (When it's icy)
