  1. Belltech lowering kit install (1043SP)

Axle bearing modification One item that I didn't know about before beginning this project was that there is a possibility that due to a different driveshaft angle, your truck could end up with some vibrations. This is warned about in the directions (and I may have missed it, but should be in...
  2. Belltech lowering kit install (1043SP)

Rear suspension and axle flip The rear portion of the Belltech kit is part #6531. It achieves the drop by locating the axle on top of the leaf springs instead of the bottom. The leaf springs attach to the frame with a fixed mount toward the front of the vehicle, and a hanger toward the rear...
  3. Belltech lowering kit install (1043SP)

A few before and after shots of the frame. I took a wire brush to the welds that had some surface rush, cleaned the whole area, and sprayed some new paint on things while I had the access, especially with the upper arms out.
  4. Belltech lowering kit install (1043SP)

Upper control arms NOTE - INSTALL THESE AFTER YOU INSTALL THE NEW STRUTS These come with separate install instructions (part #25121 - control arm kit) As you take apart the front suspension to remove the strut you will want to leave the top control arm connected to the hub carrier/upright for...
  5. Belltech lowering kit install (1043SP)

Taking things apart - the front My truck had ~60,000 miles of life in Canada on it before I got it. That meant a little more corrosion on the underside than I would have preferred but the interior and exterior were in very good shape. My boys and I have owned and wrenched on Subarus for years...
  6. Belltech lowering kit install (1043SP)

I've recently purchased a 2019 XLT to do duty mostly as a daily driver but also to pull a car trailer a number of times a year. I know it may be a bit odd to get a 4x4 and lower it, however my history and passion involves cars that handle well and driving at track days. I'm not trying to turn...
  7. Look at my Ranger parked next to stuff

The size difference is comical. The pic doesn't do it justice.
  8. Look at my Ranger parked next to stuff

Love Michigan! (I'm in Grand Rapids)
  9. What did you do to your Ranger today?

I finished the install of the Belltech lowering kit on my XLT, installed the Raptor grill, and tuned the stereo with my RTA. We are getting cold in MI, so bummed I can't put the Sparco wheels and sticky tires on until spring, but something to look forward to. I'm planning on doing a full write...
  10. Michigan Rangers?

Lotus Exige for track days. ~3200# trailer + car and the Ranger is amazing.
  11. Michigan Rangers?

Grand Rapids here as well. Purchased my 2019 XLT for towing duty, and currently in the midst of a stereo upgrade, grill change, plus the Bellltech lowering kit.

  13. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Replaced the very gacked-up chrome door sill covers. The two-sided tape underneath is horrible to get off...but have a new favorite specialty tool. This 3M adhesive removal wheel is magic.
  14. Stock front strut spacer?

60K miles of life in Canada before I got it. At least the paint/exterior was very well taken of! And after the lowering kit, all the respective bolts/nuts underneath will at least be updated.
  15. Stock front strut spacer?

Thanks folks. I just needed to search the internets using the correct term (leveling kit)! This looks like the part...
  16. Stock front strut spacer?

Have recently purchased a 2019 XLT and am installing the Belltech lowering kit. Besides being frustrated by corrosion and cutting the front struts out, it appears there is an "extra" piece on top of the strut assembly. In the exploded view, I ordered #6 to replace the upper mount...however, from...
