Are you saying that the tire size and gear ratio should now be working on the Ranger as well, just that it hasn't been confirmed? I checked for updates to my Mycal Touch on Monday and it said it was up-to-date. I've been able to adjust the tire size on the Mycal, but it causes a U0422 code to be...
I just keep thinking about when I removed my tailgate to load a pallet from a forklift. The angle to remove the tailgate is ~45 degrees, which i'm picturing as a disaster if you hit a bump just right.
I'm running +3.5" w/ 285/70-17 Ridge Grapplers. I also dropped the front spoiler and put the FX4 skid on, which probably impacted things. All said, I dropped down to about 17 Highway/15 City. Got the Livernois 93 Octane Tune, and that put me back at 21 Highway/18 City. The tune will pay for...
Oh shoot! I knew I forgot to post something!
The process was WAY easy. I was right, the hardest part is getting the lower spoiler removed, as there's 8-10 (I think) bolts that hold it on. The FX4 skid uses the same mounting bolts and positions as the non-FX4 plate, so no need to buy anything...
I'll see if i can grab pictures later, but I removed the sensor, then the "chute" that hangs down and used a dremel tool to remove the lowest 1.5" or so. Re-mounted and zip tied it up a bit. Now this is no longer ran issue for me. I probably would have adjusted over time, but I have a few family...
I honestly couldn't say for sure, but I wouldn't think the Icon kit would on it's own, should just change the ride. I put it on at the same time as the tires/wheels which lifted whole truck a solid 2".
Unfortunately no, the wheels are faux beadlock. The real deal is too rich for my blood. I...
Still no UCA's, but I did go ahead and get the rest of the kit installed. It just couldn't be adjusted for the full travel range since i'm running OEM UCAs. I don't believe there's any level kit specific pictures over here, but i'm dumping all my pics on my build page
I got to that point but was reluctant to pull with any more force. Guess I gave up too soon. Was thinking there was a way to remove those metal clips from the back side.
Thanks for the follow-up and additional pictures!
Can you explain how you got the clips off from the top side of the valence? No matter what I did, I couldn't get them loose or get very good access to them.
I got the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I was on the fence about going w/ BFG KO2's, but I saved about $150 by going w/ the Grapplers. Might end up paying more than that in gas... :puke:
I'll add that I also deleted my front spoiler in lieu of the FX4 Skid, so that's impacting a bit on it's own. Maybe...
On my 285-70-17's I'm noticing an immediate 3-4 MPG loss in stop/go driving around town, but probably closer to 1-2 MPG once it's rolling on the highway at a steady speed. Seems to make sense that the acceleration would take the biggest hit for the added surface area and weight of the tires.
Stage 5: Skid and Hook
Ordered the OEM Skid Plate exclusive to the FX4, and replaced the front spoiler. While I was down there, I took the time to remove and paint the front tow hooks using some red caliper paint from Auto Zone. They won't get a done of use, so i'm not too worried about the...
Stage 4: Wheels, Tires, Lift
With some assistance from XTP Diesel and Off-Road here in Dayton, got some 17x9.5 Black Rhino Barstows w/ +12 Offset. Mounted these on some 285/70-17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers, all paired with a 3.5" Icon Stage 2 (tubular) lift (Temporarily a Stage 1 while we wait for...
Stage 3: Grille, Auto-Fold Mirrors, Grille Lights
Installed Raptor KO Grille from "Connecticut Joe" (See j0shm1lls's post related to it here. He did a super-helpful write-up and YouTube video for it).
With the help of RCMUSTANG's thread here, installed the mirror auto-fold module. This may be...
