My dad bought a 93 Ranger Splash with graphics delete, red paint that always dulled no matter how many times it was washed/waxed. It was an extended cab with 4.0l and 5 speed. For a truck, it was pretty quick and nimble. When my parents went out of town, I would take it to cruise downtown and...
The mustang lights from Australia can be made to work electrically. However, the fitment is not correct. I'm actually thinking of gutting my stock reflector housings installing some projectors. Just afraid of it looking like a retrofit instead of a custom job, yanno ?
But HID bulbs in reflector housings create too much glare for oncoming traffic and the light lost due to scatter negates any visibility gains for the driver. There are HID bulbs designed to be used in reflector housings, but then you have ballasts to add and all the wiring.
Unfortunately, I don't have many opportunities to get to the dealer and leave my truck. I bought a truck because it's what I use every day. I'm on vacation this week, so hopefully, when the light comes on again, I'll get it to the dealer.
The light isn't projected lower. The cutoff shield in the projector blocks the beam more so to the left for LHD headlamps(to the right in RHD). In reflector lamps, it's built into the reflector (also coordinates with with bulb orientation).
Has anyone had this TSB performed with any success ? At 3750 miles, I'm on CE light #19, averaging 197.4 miles between errors. Also, a note for those interested, when I had the codes read, the dealer made the comment that the error code had a history of 59 days. The day I took it in was 60 days...
I agree. When I first got the Ranger, my mpg was never over 18mpg. I learned that my wife's car, which I had been driving for the past 6 months, required more throttle input to accelerate than the Ranger. My last tank averaged 19.4mpg. This tank, I look to get over 20mpg. And I have over 3500...
Had a 2015 Colorado Z71 2wd before the Ranger XLT 2wd. While driving through a field of dips and whoops, I'd say both drove the about the same. The Ranger does seem to throw me around a bit more but it could be because it's new and the suspension hasn't settled in, I'm just guessing.
There is more room on the right side of the hitch to be able to mount it on top. I guess it all depends on what drop size you have. I only have a 2" drop so it would probably be the easiest to mount.
You could get (or make) a receiver tube and clamp it to the hitch under the truck. I'm actually thinking of doing that to free up the precious underseat storage.
My wife's KIA has audible BLIS alerts and frankly, it annoys the crap out of me to be rolling slowly in a turn lane and the damn thing continues to beep. I'm kind of glad the Ranger doesn't do it. I think there needs to be more metrics involved to activate/deactivate audible alerts(like adding...
