  1. BAKFLIP MX4 INSTALL

I have installed my MX4 and it seems to be ok. However, when I fully open it, it rests on the third brake light and not on the window. Do others experience the same? I don't know how much I can shift it towards the tailgate, but that might help a little.
  2. OEM 2019+ Ranger Tailgate Damper Part# VKB3Z-99406A10-A by DeeZee DZ43206

VHT Roll Bar & Chassis (high temperature) I used black gloss enamel. Once clean, it is a three layer process to be complete in 10 minute intervals. Then, most importantly, to let it cure for a good 24 hours before attaching to allow the enamel to garden. I was glad with the outcome too. The...
  3. Undercover Ultra Flex question

I am going to try a FIY Bulkhead Rail for the UnderCover Ultra Flex similar to the Bakflip ones. It should not be more than around $25 Aluminum angle 1.5"x1.5x70 (bed is about 65") $20...
  4. Hard Tonneau Cover Recommendations?

Thanks for the quick reply @Wayne Kubeck I have a spray in liner and so am concerned for the ability for it to seal well as I don't think it will stick. TO install it inverted does not sound like a reliable option. So you don't have the bracket shown in this post below? Apparently it is for the...
  5. Undercover Ultra Flex question

Hi @FULLSCALE can you confirm that you got that seal to work directly on the spray liner? I saw (somewhere?) that with the spray liner you shuld stick it to the cover, but that does not seem to be a good solution to me. Wish we could get the Bakflip bulkhead rail after market as that seems a...
  6. Hard Tonneau Cover Recommendations?

Thanks @Wayne Kubeck. Did it come with a bulk head rail, so that it seals behind the cab? The old (or maybe not old) installation instructions show just a soft foam bulkhead seal. Like a Home Depot's door weather seal. I am hoping they have updated their config.
  7. The BEST Hard-Folding Tonneau

I noticed on Extang’s Xceed web page they say it is a four panel cover. On a 5' bed that means 15" instead of 20" panels that would give more headroom when folded. Is it so?
  8. The BEST Hard-Folding Tonneau

Any opinions on the most temperature moderating cover? Most insulating in winter, least radiant heat in summer sun. Outside: Aluminum vs Fibreglass (FRP) vs Solid core aluminum skin Underside / Cover lining: Carpet lined vs Line-X coating vs Vinyl lamination
  9. Hard Tonneau Cover Recommendations?

@Wayne Kubeck any comments since you got your Ultra Flex? One of the main (hopeful) attractions to the Ultimate Flex is the carpet lining. I am hoping it will moderate the radiant heat from the black panels. Others posts have indicated the aluminum panels can get pretty hot in the sun. I often...
  10. Bed Lights

Thanks to @Grey Razor and @treimche, eventually found some details scrolling through your builds: For others here are some links: For the wire tap into the cargo light For the LED strip kit, here it is on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KXR799K
  11. Bed Lights

Hi @Grey Razor , these are great photos and very helpful. Did you use the switches in the end or just use the interior light switch for the cargo/ courtesy lights? How did you attach the LED strips in the bed? Did you just use the tape or also the straps ... not sure if I want to screw them...
  12. Tire Chains

Do you have the 1.5" spacers installed in the photos? If so they're a little tight for space, but the 1" or 3/4" spacers should be adequate to give inside clearance and around the wheel well for chains not to foul. This may be the most cost effective solution for adding chains to the front.
  13. Removable Roof Racks

Thanks Todd. I would also go with the new fine looking Evo Wingbar style. However, with a few older style on Craigslist at $100 the new price of around $500 is less attractive. I'll see if I can find the fitting kit.
  14. Removable Roof Racks

Todd, can you share where you got the Euro fit kit 1665 from? Also, how long are your Thule bars?

Just got an email from DeeZee: DZ43206 Dee Zee Tail Gate Assist Lowering System is the right part number, ... this will be ready from the first part of March. Their price will be at least a good $10 to...

  17. Towing Mirrors- recommendations

I use the Milenco Aero Mirrors. Others I have tried vibrate or move too much. https://www.amazon.com/Milenco-Aero-Extra-Towing-Mirrors/dp/B07ND4NGZM https://www.amazon.com/Dometic-DM-2899-Milenco-Towing-Mirror/dp/B019YJCBF4 (I must still check how they fit my Ranger)
  18. Ford warns that Active Cruise Control can NOT be used with an aftermarket trailer brake controller

Thanks Chance, I found it. That's a good alternative to drilling holes that I will pursue. 3M tape was not working well because of the textured dash finish. https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/tekonsha-brake-controller-install-super-easy.2559/#post-33066
  19. Ford warns that Active Cruise Control can NOT be used with an aftermarket trailer brake controller

That may be why the Ford installed "Redarc" controller uses the brake light rather than the 4th error in the side panel? Is that what we should doing? I expect the brake lights come on during adaptive cruise control. Can anyone confirm if the fourth "braking" wire only indicates brake pedal...
  20. Towing Concerns

I understand that an unmarked trailer tire should be presumed to be rated for 65 mph. Otherwise a trailer tire can also have lettered speed ratings on the side wall (L - 75 mph; M - 81 mph)
