I just had a local ford dealer install the brake controller today. $148 for the install which honestly I thought was going to be more. Tomorrow I am going to take delivery on a 2017 Jayco 287BHSW weighing in at 6300lbs and 630lbs of hitch weight. I am anxious to see how this truck does towing a...
Here is my final verdict on the Echo brake controller. It is no go for me. I tried to get two of them to work and was unable. Curt support also had no good answer for me. Their last word to me was they tried it on a 2019 Ranger and it worked so there must be an issue with my truck. I tried...
I am at 2500 miles and find the Ranger to be very smooth. In the morning I take it easy on my 45 mile commute and try to not fight traffic to much. On the way home I drive as hard as local police will allow. In both scenarios the truck has been great so far.
Sorry it has taken a few days to follow up on this post. I received the Curt Brake controller and followed the install instructions to install the app and configure it for use. I tested that it worked with the electric brakes on my trailer. The braking control works as I would expect it to. As a...
I had an air scoop and CAI on my Focus ST. After install I did seem to get better MPG on the highway and I felt like acceleration increased. Maybe acceleration was jedi mind trick but the MPG increase was real.
That being said I don't think I will pay $300 for a truck CAI.
I am driving and XL FX4 in mixed use.
87 Octane gas
1700 Miles
Truck says I am averaging 23.5 MPG
Based on my calculations it is about 23 MPG
I am fairly light on the accelerator most of the time.
Thanks for the replies. My XL has none of tech niceties. I will test and post my findings once it arrives. Funny how the etrailer.com reviews only say good things about the Curt Echo. :frown:
Just ordered a Curt Echo wireless brake controller to use with my new Ranger XL and my Falcon travel trailer. Will post my impression once I put it to use next week on a short camping trip.
