I usually use a slotted screw driver in those situations since it would kinda work as a "walking out" chisel and if the blade is close (slightly over) to the max of the messed up Torx (or other type of head) you can get it mashed in and maybe out. Mashing a tight socket over it can work but can...
Do you own a Dremel or hack saw blade? If you can get a straight slot in there you could just try a slot drive. If that doesn't work you go with a socket (instead of hammering a larger sized Torx in), or try to walk it out with a chisel and hammer.
Can you get that spring piece knocked off for...
I’ll see what I can do.
Attached is a rev of what my project is/was though. (I ended up using 1.5” pipe and rear bar is fixed for now) I’ll try to throw up a proper thread at some point.
Thanks for the interest.
Also I mounted to the rails by drilling up through the cylindrical pieces of rail plastic for 1/2” bolts. I attached 3x5 aluminum angle to the rail tops for my project.
What's the goal in mind with not blocking the tie down points? I have stainless chain going from front to back on both sides, not sure if that helps but it could make more box options usable for you.
Also, I use a cheap Craftsman shallow box that's 10" wide for straps/bed extender/jumper...
Is the FX4 skid plate thicker or just more surface area? With the hitch added in the front doesn't that square bar give you a nice brace and warning to some of the things that would've beat even a larger skid plate up?
It seems if you had to use the 4x4 skid plate that you could alter it with a...
" Generic ladder rack with lots of modification" this route is sitting in my garage now since last summer, the aluminum is still wrapped from the supply house and the generic Wagner rack is waiting to be partially used. I wasn't thinking and got one that doesn't lift off in the back and I'm not...
I have an XL 4x4, looks like it was spec-ed to be a parts runner or fleet run about.
It seems like they aren't rated like rear tow hitches they probably don't need to be. If you reach out to the manufacturer you may be able to get specs. Mine came with nothing in the box but was well boxed and...
Factory tow hooks went right back on without any alterations. You may be able to see in the one picture that the hitch manufacturer knew the tow hook has that little finger coming off on the back side, there is a hole for it on the hitch brackets. They definitely measured a Ranger like mine when...
I made a profile just to thank you and tell you (or anyone else down the rabbit hole) this front hitch fits.
Shipping was fast it, came with zero instructions, and my factory skid plate fit back on without any issue.
My intent is to use a hitch plow (next year) but also to use my bed extender...
