The muffler delete isn't quiet for sure. At startup you can hear it across a busy parking lot. You'll definitely hear it and feel it while driving too. Honestly, it's like putting a flowmaster on a V8...everyone will hear it. It's really not obnoxious though, not ricey at all compared to a Honda...
I had mine done a few days ago and I like it. It's not overly obnoxious and I really don't think the $1000 catback systems sound better. Great video, this should help more people decide what to do.
I agree, I think there's some common issue with these trucks. I can't get my mpgs as low as some of these trucks if I tried. Something has to be wrong.
It actually let's you spin pretty good. This is my truck on a light coating of snow. At the end of the video you'll see a little wiggle if you watch closely, that's when the other side grabs and the rear wants to come around.
Is your driveway level? Mine doesn't drift back on hills so I'm assuming there's some type of hill assist. I get weird shifts first thing in the morning but all my trucks have done that. My transmission engages and pulls immediately.
I had a 99 or 2000 (can't remember lol) extended cab with an 8ft bed back in the day with a 4.6. I miss having that 8ft bed sometimes and the way it sounded with a flowmaster. I don't miss 16mpg though.
You're already over your maximum hitch weight and the manufacturers estimated hitch weight usually doesn't include propane and batteries. You deduct your actual hitch weight from maximum payload, so your actual hitch weight is at least over 800lbs which leaves you around 800lbs for passengers...
After seeing what the shops around here want to charge to put a muffler on mine, I might just do a delete too. Honestly how loud is it? Will it be obnoxious at 2am when it first starts and goes into high idle? I like my neighbors and the family across the street has little ones, I'd hate to have...
I've hit a couple of those MD deer, he's not kidding lol. My property is surrounded by protected Civil War land that can't be hunted (they bring in shooters to keep the population down occasionally). Hopefully I don't get my Ranger sighted in any time soon.
I have a 2 inch level, 265/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers and a mild performance tune and I still get 20+mpg. I can beat the crap out of my truck and get 17mpg. My first oil change I switched to valvoline modern engine full synthetic (it's supposed to work well with turbos) and I saw an immediate...
I have an appointment at 8:30 to get mine done. I'll put up a video this afternoon. Glad yours worked out for you.
Edit: Didn't work out, guy wanted way too much for way too little.
No, they moved when she was younger but her grandparents stayed there till about 20 years ago. They still had farms in Gaithersburg when she was a kid lol.
I had my first oil change today at 2775 miles. I went to a local valvoline quick lube and they already knew all about the Ranger. The tech grabbed a couple extensions, a ratchet, and 2 oil filter tools and had the filter changed out in no time. I double checked everything and I'm satisfied with...
I don't know but it seems pretty solid so far. There's no negatives except for the transmission having to do a relearn and it's already smoothed out after a couple hundred miles. I'm extremely happy with it.
