  1. Extended Range Fuel Tank

Old thread I know…. I’m really finding myself wanting one of the long range gas tanks. Wanting it badly. I’ve spent a chunk of my time off and on today reading these various tank related threads. And perusing the sellers website. Dang I want one! Seriously. Retirement is not that far away for...
  2. Fun Fuel Tank Project

This is cool Frenchy! Thanks for keeping us updated. Looking forward to the finished project.
  3. What’s the ONE piece of advice you’d give to a new Ranger5G owner?

Aw look at you! Sucking up now. Nice job though.
  4. What’s the ONE piece of advice you’d give to a new Ranger5G owner?

Can’t help but feel bad for some folks. They just don’t understand. On the other hand we are rather strict about exactly who is allowed to represent the most awesome color, so you probably wouldn’t have gotten through the interview process anyway. We keep red, and other options, around just...
  5. Fun Fuel Tank Project

Water for the actual rinse. Then the alcohol to absorb any remaining water. Methanol has a huge affinity for water. But isopropyl will work as well, just take more of it for the same result.
  6. Now why couldn't Ford do this for the 5G?

The switches on my Tremor are connected to just as many things as they were the day it rolled off the line. Feeling a bit lame right now.
  7. Fun Fuel Tank Project

Water? Give it a good rinse then use some methanol to absorb any remaining water? Or to be a bit safer, and easier to get, just use isopropyl alcohol. Use the 90 not 70% version. just throwing ideas out there.
  8. What’s the ONE piece of advice you’d give to a new Ranger5G owner?

Preach it! Right there with you. Oh, and when mine does break, I’ll be bitching too. ;)
  9. 93 Octane

Mine gets 93 all the time. 90%+ of the fill ups have been Shell. Rest were from one of the other majors if Shell wasn’t available. There have been 3 or maybe 4 times when I bought mid grade because the particular station was absolutely raping people with the 93 up charge. Usually happens when a...
  10. What’s the ONE piece of advice you’d give to a new Ranger5G owner?

The blue ones look better, run better, get better mileage, and have 22 more HP than any other color. :bandit:
  11. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Drive 50+ miles for an errand that could have totaled about 18-20. What can I say? Love my truck. Love it.
  12. 7000 Miles and My Full Warranty is Gone

Wow. My blue beauty will be 3 years old at the end of this month. Only about 600 miles away from hitting 50K. Hate it has the miles on it already. But have LOVED driving those miles!
  13. Do you hang anything from your RVM?

Ditto! Still got my dog tags just for the sentimental reasons but keep them hidden in a drawer due to my "Military ID number. " Think back to all my times of traveling with my SS# written right down the side of the ol' duffle bag. Hard to believe that at one point in time that was considered ok...

  16. Engine shot - Coolant intrusion - 74k miles on my Ford Ranger 2.3L I4 xlt

Nice but this is the deuce I was remembering/talking about:
  17. Engine shot - Coolant intrusion - 74k miles on my Ford Ranger 2.3L I4 xlt

Can't speak for the internal warranty process for automotive manufacturers, but up until very recently I spent a number of years working for a large forklift manufacturer. And I can tell you, as an employee, you learned to hate the warranty department. Your own coworkers. Yet you end up hating...

Look at dat Deuce!! Be still my heart!!! Total envy right now. Sigh. "Back in da day..."
  19. Engine shot - Coolant intrusion - 74k miles on my Ford Ranger 2.3L I4 xlt

Damn near anything, anything is better than an Accord with the trunk lid delete option.
  20. Space Shuttle Challenger

40 years. That part is kind of scary to think about. 40? Really? Surely not. Not this quickly. I was a young guy, not even a year out of the Army. Was in my first (of many to come) corporate sales school. Saw the news while on our lunch break. Can still remember my frustration that we...
