Phil, in my second life I sat in on quite a few meetings (as a peon that wasn't allowed to speak) with the "powers that be", engineers, and "bean counters". Needless to say it was always quite entertaining. I'm sure you know what I mean. :)
Happy Birthday Mr. Phil, may you be blessed with many more. For you on your Birthday here's a little comparison of how the Ford truck has evolved. Here's a picture of my previous 2011 F-150 out for a day with his Great Paw Paw, a 1929 Ford Huckster. I had the privilege of taking care of the old...
That's our problem Mike. Nobody in North Carolina sells anything we want. Like these wheels/tires they are almost always 1000's of miles away. :)
Good luck with the sale Ben.
Ummm, invitations to order future model years. That doesn't sound good. I stopped by the Maverick forum the other day, and those folks are getting the same song, and dance. It's beginning to look like Ford bit off more than they can chew. Like Dave @AzScorpion said, I'm very close to canceling...
I don't use a truck like I used too, so it may be only once a week or less. Truthfully I could probably carry everthing I buy these days in the back Jeep JL. My problem is I've had a truck in the drive for so long I don't feel right without one. I know, that's pretty sad. :)
I'm been looking at the '23 Ranger myself. I'm toying with the idea to let Ford decide. If I don't hear any good news about this Bronco fiasco by the time the order banks open for the new Ranger I may just order a Lariat Crew Cab 4wd. Of course this is only one of the crazy ideas my dumb old big...
Kevin, looks to me that if you have the Tech package you should have the adaptive cruise as it's an option in both the 301A, and the 302A packages. Check the settings in the infotainment system. My '13 F-150 had an option to turn the ACC off, and it reverted to the regular cruise control. I'm...
I can't argue with that Mark. I've test drove a Big Bend, and honestly the only thing that's better than my Jeep JL is the steering. But of course a IFS will drive better than a solid front axle vehicle. Honestly It really wasn't that much better as Jeep redesigned something out front, and they...
Goodness, Ford is going to delete so much stuff if you order a '23 it will arrive wrapped in a Maverick body. :frown:
I know this doesn' fit here Dave, but don't forget how Ford separates packages, and charges for each item they pull out. i.e. When I ordered my '20 STX the reverse...
That's what we have in my area also. Most all of the trucks have a strange mix of options, or have every option possible running the price of the truck to the top. I understand the last part as dealers are trying to make up for the lean times. Like you I ordered my Super Cab so I could get it...
Thanks brother, there are other options on the table for sure. If Stellantis gets the new Dakota out in '23 that will be one I will look at also. I know the global chip problem, and the supply chain sux now. But, Ford has done some things that is the complete opposite than what they started with...
Phil I have a question that has been rattling around in my head that you may be able to answer. When a sourced part causes warranty work, does Ford charge the cost back to the supplier? Something like the 2.7L failures could cost Ford a ton.
