Anyone having issues with poor fuel economy recently? I'm not sure if it's just me or not, but I'm really struggling to get anywhere near acceptable numbers. When I first got the truck, I was ecstatic that I was matching EPA numbers (and in some cases exceeding). After about 7 months of...
Are you saying you're getting new tires just for the rear and leaving the front as is with the Duelers? Mixing up all seasons and all terrains is pretty dangerous, just fyi. All terrains have less grip on pavement, so if you put them on the rears only you're increasing your risk of spinning out...
If the wasteful aspect of throwing parts at a landfill is a concern, I'm sure local junkyards and pick-n-pulls would be happy to take parts off of people's hands. Dropping off all parts at once (even the <$50 ones) fixes the advertising, negotiating, meeting up issue and increases the chances...
If you have the space, best bet is to just hold on to it. Come 3+ years, you might start slowly being able to sell the takeoffs. But it is definitely the cost of modding!
It also hugely depends on your offset too. If the tire is completely within the wheel well, I doubt you'll notice any difference. Plus, it's not a K02 only problem. Any aggressive A/T tire will throw more rocks. A clear wrap can help prevent rock chips if you are worried.
Scary times when we're seeing layoffs from the auto industry itself. My friend is a contract worker at FCA and he got notified this morning. Filing for unemployment today. He's hopeful that it's just temporary until this whole thing blows over...fingers crossed...
Thank you!
@RANGER PRIDE hope you realize that all millenials are of working age and are just as afraid of losing their jobs as you are, with MUCH less time for them to build wealth and savings before this crisis.
Awesome option to have! So Jason, just to confirm, you wouldn't want to get the leaf pack only if you don't plan to lift the front right? From the description, sounds like you would get more rake.
It's just the torque converter locking/unlocking. The slip is much pronounced in modern autos because we have the tech to lock it much more often than in the past. Computer is just trying to figure out optimum slip level based on load, throttle input, temp, etc.
That's a leaf sprung solid axle's biggest limitation. Tbf I would say that's pretty damn good for leaf sprung. A coil sprung rear end would be sweet on the Ranger. Maybe once the Bronco comes out, the aftermarket can steal some ideas for a coil spring rear end swap :)
No I'm not, haha. I plan on getting the Fox kit though sometime this summer. Just a matter of when I want to spend the dough
Just as @Stangman570 chimed in, there's plenty of people who have the coilover lift system to share their experiences. @Stage3Motorsports also has a review of...
With a 2.5" lift, crash bars removed/modified, and proper offset, you will be able to fit 33s for sure. I've sank my truck to the frame in mud before with no lift/32s and I get by just fine.
OP, why are you so set on gaining so much height? If you did a 2 - 2.5" lift, you wouldn't have to worry about maxing out driveshaft angles (and thus don't need to worry about a diff drop), and you would still have a 0.5" rake or so. The Fox 2.0 is a quality coilover kit that's relatively...
The Everest is definitely a no-go in the US. As for the Ranger Raptor, it seems like Ford NA didn't want to bring it here since it was based on the rest of world Ranger. According to some press releases I've read in the past, Ford execs haven't dismissed the possibility of a Ranger Raptor in the...
Good point, agreed on all. Plus, the Bronco name is just so much stronger stateside and will receive a lot more public attention to help with sales. If anything, an Everest in the US would clash most with the Explorer imo. The new Explorer is decently capable off road (at least compared to...
