I ordered the $40 USB from Ford, and the process went very smoothly. Left the truck running in the driveway for ~60mins and came out to a message saying it was complete. Seemed like a better process than the OTA updates. I haven't driven the truck yet, so I'm excited to see what changed in the maps.
Saber is by far my favorite, but I bought Iconic Silver because I got a 2020. If they had Saber in 2020, I would have bought it over any other color. Iconic Silver is my second choice, though.
So much going on lately :
Switched to Unleashed Tune
Softopper with bed rug
32” BFG K02
New Belltech leveling struts in garage waiting to be thrown on after COVID.
I really don't know, but it took Ken making timing changes in the tune to mitigate the noise, which made me wonder. Torrie seemed to throw the idea that the boost seemed a bit heavy early in the range, but I'm more than certain Ken would have worked in some safety features in that range. I've...
Well here is an update : In a completely unbiased observation, I bought Torrie's Unleashed tune, and the knock completely went away.. through all ranges and throttle positions, etc. There is definitely something going on w/ Ken's tune & my particular truck. Here is a couple of notes.
I now...
Interesting. What tune are you on? I sent for a timing revision and it is mostly mitigated. Like 95% mitigated but with a slight loss of total power. Still much quicker than stock.
lol! I literally just read your post saying this in the bucking thread, and will make sure to have them check it next time. Mine shifts smooth as butter on the Oz Tune, though.
I feel like a lot of the shifting issues stem from full throttle shifts when people get anxious after the tune install, as well. I typically give it 15 miles of variance before laying into it, and that seems to help the shift points a bit.
I'm definitely keeping that thread in the back of my mind. I read ALOT of both parts.
I’m more weary of the OTS tune that doesn’t allow for knock datalogging in HPTuners, as opposed to OZ customized channels that allow for a lot more data in the logs, and availability/responsiveness of the...
It’s too intermittent to be the fan and it’s only under load. I just don’t know if anything else that sounds like spark knock.
I’m telling you.. it is LITERALLY this exact sound but more intermittent and only @ partial throttle (45% in catalog) in boost around 12-16lbs.
Ken will tell you, I do the exact same for him. I’m always emailing and asking questions lol. I am on my v5 currently, and it seems to have mitigated the noise a bit. I sent him one more good log in which it was “knocking”for the entirety of the top end of the pull at partial throttle. Loaded V5...
Just got another revision back from Ken. He said that there was no knock registered, so I am just going to let it ride. I had a freak out moment, because I don't know of anything else that could sound like that classic spark knock sound.. maybe something is loose somewhere. I don't know. If...
