ARB lists them as being 3mm thick. Or approx. 1/8". I installed the front two skids from 589 Fab. They're more money, but they're also thicker at 3/16" (same as Shrockworks). Also, I don't see any openings in the ARB skids for drain plug access.
The ARB's look nice but having already made us of...
You might able to get just the switch pack. Having worked on other Ford heavy duty trucks with the upfitter package that includes the switches, the whole interior harness is different. It has marked wires that come out in the fire wall , each connected to the corresponding switches. I would...
My 2020 FX2 came with no skids. I added the 589 Fab front and engine skid. Very heavy duty. Already made use of them in Death Valley. Great protection for the radiator and steering rack. For mild off-roading the FX2 is a great deal
Were you able to get this sorted? I have the same issue with my Ranger and thought it was just a stupid factory design, but it would seem to be a fault.
For ones who have replaced the stock stereo, what features have you lost? Anything with the FordPass app, lock/unlock, location info? Anything like that?

This guy and the TPMS relearn procedure is easy.
with key on, depress brake pedal
turn off key
cycle key to ON position 3 times...
I found a STX alloy here on the forum, installed a TPMS sensor, and use it in a 5 tire rotation. If you do any wheeling or traveling in far flung places it's nice to have a matching spare that you can drive on in bad conditions.
It won't be an issue till 15 years and probably 150k miles. When you try to one repair and break a plastic coolant T fitting cause you looked at it wrong...Even the 2.3 isn't "simple" like an old school N/A port fuel injected vehicle.
I owned an older Audi 100 for a while that had an ABS disable button. I was confused as to why, but the owners manual explained the exact scenario you talked about but in snow conditions. Guess they don't trust drivers to figure that out anymore.
So just Brazil is stopping operations it looks like. Argentina and Uruguay still have operations.. I was in Argentina last year and it was a trip seeing all the old style Ford trucks still running around
From Ford tech specs sheets, probably some other differences not disclosed.- Ranger intake valve 31mm, Explorer 32.5mm, Ranger con-rods - forged, Explorer con-rods - powdered metal.
The rest must just be tuning differences...
It’s easier to isolate an angle change to the rear u-joint that way. Dropping the support bearing might require a considerable change that will end up affecting all 3 u-joints and possibly inducing a different vibration.
See my recent post on Fox 2.0 - How much did it lift. On my 2wd it was basically too much and would top out harshly. That was with the collars at 48mm from the bottom of the threads. I lowered them to 35mm it has made a difference in ride quality and stopped the harsh top out. Also, that was...
Update on my install. I had been driving it for several months now at original install height, which was probably a little over level. I would get occasional harsh top out over things like speed bumps. It just didn't have enough down travel, so I went ahead and lowered the spring collar. It...
Not aluminum. A plated steel fastener. The way they engage the mating clip, any rust isn't going to cause an issue. It's not that precise a fit, like a nut and bolt.
I’m about to dig out some dzus fasteners I have from working on Audi/VW. It’s the fasteners they use for the belly pans. 1/4 turn and available in many lengths.
Here's a tip for those in California worried about smog inspections. First off, there's an 8 year exemption for biennial smogs. So only those doing it for change of ownership will deal with it for the time being.
If a smog inspection/technician gives you flack or fails your truck, the...
