There is a prototype out there with a bed rack that a canvas cover will sit on top of and still allow a rtt to mount. Search prototype on here and you should be able to find the thread.
That looks great @PatrickM ! Had I not negotiated my spray in liner when I bought the truck, I would have gone this route. How was the process in your opinion? Looks like a pretty straight forward process.
My little grommets were removed and the two big ones were sprayed over by linex. Not really sure what those are there for. There are pressure flaps on the cab in that area. Maybe to do something with that?
Hmmm. 3m makes an adhesion promoter, but you may have to go to an auto body supply shop to get it. They could probably also recommend a different 3m tape.
Did you try cleaning the trim with some isopropyl alcohol? It's possible you released some oils in the plastic when you were sanding. I've never not known that stuff to not stick to something.
