On my 2020 I replaced the OEM with Motorcraft after a little over a year. Same life for the replacements. Found on Amazon you can just buy the rubber insert at a fraction of the cost. Have been doing that and getting the same life/performance.
Agree, the only trigger that cycles the headlamps is to turn the ignition to ON which would require the key. Lights are in automatic mode.
I went back to listen to the audio and no honk or sounds happened.
I've had the truck since new. Always had a camera but this one was installed about two years ago. Previous version probably wouldn't have caught it. There is a reason, just have to keep searching.
I updated the FordPass on the second device and checked if the headlights flashed anytime after. Nothing happened. The Sync is at the latest version which was what I updated it to, last year. So, could not replicate the event.
I would be interested to know if any of the previous posters had any...
Yes, the truck is connected to my WiFi. I have FordPass installed on two Apple devices, one is at 5.18 and the other is at 5.17.1. Tonight I will update the second device to 5.18 and see if I get the flash. I doubt the camera would record a flash, if it was light out.
I will also check the Sync...
I am reviving this thread because I had the same headlight flash last night. Never seen it before, any ideas? I checked and the truck was still locked. My app is at 5.18 which came out Apr. 28th, today is May 9th.
Attached is video from my camera.
A couple of things I have noticed about these oil filters are the metal can has become a lot thinner. When I hand tighten a filter it will "dent" and then flex back. Never had that a few years ago and I know that I am not getting stronger with age.
Another is to be careful using a flute...
There are two fault messages that I have seen. The first is "Tire pressure fault" and the second is "Tire pressure low". If it says fault, one or more of the sensors is dead and needs replacement or it has to be programmed. If it says the pressure is low and you verify it is not, then my guess...
You will need to be aware that the TMPS has to be at least 3 ft away from another TMPS during recalibration. So when you put the spare in rotation you will need to leave the new spare off the truck until the 4 wheels are identified by the system.
The most dramatic change for me, is battery replacement. The more sensors on a vehicle, the more things shut down when the battery weakens.
This is not just a new problem. My 07 Explorer shuts down the airbags and gives the fault light. Let it run for a minute to recharge, shutdown, then restart...
This is what I have read. And below is what Ford states in their manual......
If the reset is not carried out [using a scan tool] it takes approximately 8 hours for the BCM to learn the new battery state of charge. During this 8 hour period, the vehicle must be undisturbed, with no doors opened...
Yes, USPS should be the preferred shipping method. UPS and FedEx charge a very high fee to do border clearance. This often comes up in buying online from US vendors because they don't see the additional charges, only the receiver.
2020 XLT, a little under 20k. No visits to a dealer and only problem was the roof moulding peeling at the front on one side. Removed remaining paint and used vinyl wrap to cover, has held up well. Truck parks outside, so far everything still good.
I have the bubbling on the drivers side (2020 XLT) piece but it has not peeled yet. So, it probably will soon.
Might try to cover with a piece of vinyl wrap. You will need to get any lose paint off and sand smooth. I used the low gloss vinyl wrap on my Explorer window trim and it held up really...
There is more than a few Rangers around where I am. Never seen a wave or really watched for it.
As a motorcycle rider, I am use to the wave. But to be honest it becomes a pain and generally I only raise a few fingers from the grip, now. I also don't just ride up beside someone I do know or join...
Seems to be the trend all over.
I haven't gone to the Toronto show in about twenty years. Loved it when it was out at the Airport Centre, lots of free parking and easy to get to. But once it moved downtown, parking was harder to find and the attending cost went way up. Could get mostly the same...
