  1. Fuel in oil

It's a pretty big trailer for a small truck like the ranger. I've definitely maxed out the legal towing capacity on this truck, but I'll add that it still goes like a champ! I'm sure it could pull a lot more with a longer wheelbase.
  2. Fuel in oil

I've had this thought, and I do generally drive pretty conservatively with a light foot. One of the big differences between the 2.3 setup in our engines and in the Mustang/focus is that we have a much more robust cooling system, as you stated. That is the reason why the Honda CR-V has a serious...
  3. Fuel in oil

I've driven 300-400 miles since having the hpfp replaced. The oil is now considerably above the top hole on the dipstick, and does smell slightly of gas, but not nearly as bad as I remember it smelling before. I'm trying to stay positive but the rising dipstick level has me concerned. Is there...
  4. Fuel in oil

Yeah in my case I definitely smelled fuel strongly every time I parked it. Not so noticeable in my old house with just a carport, but with a garage now it really reeked. I wasn't sure if it was associated with the fuel getting in my oil, but with the smell gone now I'm hoping they are connected...
  5. Fuel in oil

How has your oil level been doing since having the hpfp replaced?
  6. Fuel in oil

Just got my truck back from the dealer with the new hpfp. First thing I've noticed is that my garage used to reek horribly of fuel after driving my truck and parking it, I now smell nothing of that sort. Good sign!
  7. Fuel in oil

And those are some encouraging numbers to think about. We know for a fact that there are people on this forum who have run an oil analysis and come back with almost no fuel dilution, hopefully more good ones than bad ones.
  8. Fuel in oil

Well I take it back, I feel bad for bashing on the guy because he is really hooking me up. They weren't able to detect excessive fuel in the smell of the oil, which is somewhat understandable since I just changed the oil 150 miles or so ago (though I can definitely already smell it myself). But...
  9. Fuel in oil

Just dropped mine off at the new dealer here in Illinois. Hoping for some good results. Question though, do the service managers generally have much knowledge about vehicle maintenence and repair? The service manager I was talking to just kind of gave me the thousand yard stare and didn't seem...
  10. Fuel in oil

Great to hear! Bringing mine into a dealer tomorrow for the first time since my recent move to Illinois. Hopefully I can have a similar experience! Hope the fix works for you guys!
  11. Fuel in oil

That's awesome!!! Heck, I'll fly out there to buy my next vehicle based on that level of service. I'm so glad someone has gotten their dealership to take the issue seriously!
  12. Fuel in oil

I'm glad to hear that somebody here has a dealer willing to actually try to fix the problem! I think you should really try to press them to look at your high pressure fuel pump.
  13. Fuel in oil

Wow! Looks like you have it just as bad as I do. The amsoil analysis I've used maxes out at 5%, so I figure in actuality we are about the same. Hopefully one of us can get this fixed and the other can replicate the solution.
  14. COVID-19 Thread

I do appreciate the input! And I really hope this thing does blow over and we can continue to live normal lives!
  15. COVID-19 Thread

Not to be overly precise, but we are exactly 8 days behind Italy. We do have the advantage of seeing what is happening over there and taking corrective actions now which might help, but only time will tell. I'm hoping warmer weather will slow it down!
  16. COVID-19 Thread

Not spreading fear, just trying to get people to take this seriously. The virus currently has a kill rate of 3.7 percent. And that is including current infections/new infections. If you only compare recovered cases and deaths, the kill rate is 7%. Swine flu was .01%. You are right that as the...
  17. COVID-19 Thread

The difference is that if we get as many infections of COVID-19 as we did with H1N1 we would have 2.5 MILLION deaths, not a paltry 12.5 THOUSAND. This virus is far more deadly.
  18. Fuel in oil

Yeah I know.... But it was 6:30 pm and I was supposed to leave the next morning, and I was pretty sure the dealer would either be closed or require an appointment. I'll make them do the next one! I'm just glad I've moved to an area with numerous dealers so I should have a better chance of...
  19. Fuel in oil

I've noticed a lot of people who got the Blackstone test done showed 2.8% fuel dilution. Is that the max that their testing will register or something? I can't imagine that the odds of everyone getting that exact same number are very high... The amsoil test maxes out at 5%, which is what I was...
  20. Fuel in oil

I always have the start stop feature deactivated, and 99% of my driving is highway anyway. But that was definitely a thought I had as well.
