Curious why the Ranger will be able fit the same tires as other vehicles with less of a lift? Does it have more fender clearance from the factory than the competitors?
Have you seen the Ordering Guide @ https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/official-2019-ranger-order-guide-released.1004/
It has all the different tire sizes and tire specs you can order.
Every single build except the Baja Forged Ranger (uses Icon Vehicle Dynamics suspension) rides on BDS suspension. Seems like they got the inside track on Ranger specs from Ford and will be first to market with a lift kit.
Thought this would make for a good separate thread. The owners manual says you can run regular gas (87 octane) in the 2.3L ecoboost Ranger, so that leads to the natural question if higher octane gas would yield more power. The easy answer is yes, but how much power difference?
Tuners have...
Yeap tat's exactly what some tuners have done. Here's one by Speedfactory where they dynode Ecoboost Mustang running 87 and then 92. The biggest gains for 92 octane vs 87 octane was above 4500 RPM, with a peak increase of +22 whp / +4 wtq when running 92 octane.
Probably nobody knows yet. Even the most current Order Guide (see https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/official-2019-ranger-order-guide-released.1004/) doesn't say what the optional tires are yet. Just says A/T OWL (All Terrain / Outlined White Letters) for now.
The BFG K02 do come in...
Not replacing but adding to my 2017 Focus ST. Been real happy with it and I've always wanted a badass Ford truck so here I am :)
Some of you guys look like you'll be making a major upgrade from your older pickups :like:
Ugliness is a complaint for me on the Tacoma :puke:
Yea I can't keep count of how many times I've seen an F series truck park diagonally and take up two parking spaces. I'd hate to be THAT person. And good luck parallel parking in a city. :whew: The Ranger's size is perfect for me.
It's not a from-the-ground-up new model, but more like an update of the already existing international Ranger right? If that's the case then the electronics shouldn't be all new and should already have had its early teething issues fixed.
Active Grille Shutters, that's interesting. Haven't seen that listed before. Is that a standard feature on all models or specific to certain model or package?
These are some great numbers. Now I'm curious to read the US press reviews of how it will drive and feel with these figures. On-paper numbers are only part of the equation after all.
And great move designating the GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) to be at least 6000 lbs! Now it qualifies for...
True but Ford has already dropped hints of it coming to the US. Ford Product Communications Manager Mike Levine previously tweeted "Today’s announcement is about the launch of the new Ranger Raptor in Asia Pacific markets. We'll have more to share about Ranger Raptor at a later date." when asked...
FCA has Ram and the Jeep brand has always been about lifestyle/adventure more than work and especially since it will be based off the Wrangler with few modifications I dont think it will have the same work/utility purpose as the Ranger. That and as misanthrope said, the pricing also suggests this.
Welcome to the site and thanks for sharing this info. If that's true then I wonder when the second run will begin. These things are gonna be pretty rare sights for a while if only half the dealers in the country are getting just one Ranger for a while.
