At this point I have put almost 700 miles on the truck since the TSB reprogramming. My problem is getting worse.
I do not believe my problem is anything other than the transmission. It now shutters/bucks/surges any time its coasting. I can now even feel it slightly on the interstate; cruise...
Thanks Phil.
The TSB addresses "low speed buck/surge" which I thought was my issue. The problem my truck has is noticeable any time it is between acceleration and deceleration. Like popping a clutch.
TSB (supposedly) done Monday. No improvement and maybe it is now a little worse. I would appreciate someone trying the following: Level smooth road, set cruise to around 40MPG and see if it maintains speed smoothly. Our 2021 Explorer is very smooth as expected My Ranger buck/surges very...
Thanks. The truck is going in this Monday to get reprogrammed. Won't be the first time I have had to inform the Ford dealer of a Ford TSB to solve a problem with a Ford that the Ford techs couldn't solve. Maybe Ford should get their dealers' service people hooked up with Google!
2019 here with a little over 20,000 miles. Has always had the harsh 3-4 shift when cold but may be getting better lately or maybe the warmer weather is helping.
Here is my bigger issue: when driving on level ground holding the accelerator in a neutral position- not speeding up or slowing down...
Mine has around 8500 miles and has/had an issue shifting from a cold start. It is slowly improving. The truck would start out fine but stumble at the 3-4 shift, though not by the same amount every time. My plan is to wait a little longer and take it back to the dealer for reprogramming if needed.
Thanks djrobb for the pics! I received my Ford/Redarc kit Friday and was just looking at it today. I wasn't clear on exactly how the connectors at the back brake light were going to go together until I saw your pictures. Much appreciated.
I just went and checked and have to agree with you. The duct has plenty of clearance if I keep my heel on the floor. I am kicking it by lifting my foot to move it to the brake pedal.
There must be inconsistencies in these trucks. No way someone with a size 14 shoe drives mine without hitting this duct.
I wear size 10 and bump it with my toe all the time.
I don't like it and do not think it is practical for where I drive. I drive multiple vehicles and always forgot to turn the auto stop off until after it shut off at the first stop. As with other features, we should have the option to turn this one off.
Now that's cool! I really like the forward IR camera. Putting blind spot mirrors on the fenders as shown in the linked page would save a lot of work by not needing to run wires through the doors. Thanks.

I want to research this more, but it looks like a camera could be added to the bottom of the passenger rear-view mirror that would be activated by the turn signal. I had this feature on a Honda Civic and miss it. I'm thinking it...
The Ford service guy looked at a new truck and couldn't locate anything like it. I removed it to take to them for identification tomorrow and will insist they figure out what it is to be sure I don't need it. The end of the nylon tie was pinched in the lower steering column bracket. I removed it...
No, the hood release is on the left and works fine. This thing is just hanging there by a nylon tie. I'll try to get a better picture today. Or better yet, I'll run up to the dealer and look at another truck. Will report back. Thanks.
I found this part hanging by a nylon wire tie just over the brake pedal. Anyone recognize what it is?
White plastic about 2-1/2" wide; looks like it clips to something.
