  1. Does your seat belt alarm randomly sound louder sometimes?

Yes, I found that it happened in my 2019 when the Sync system wasn’t quite finished booting yet, or when the system was in ā€œbattery protectionā€ mode. Probably worth checking whether or not your battery is on the way out, for me it was an early sign that the battery was approaching end of life...
  2. Is Ford's Bluecruise coming to the 2026 Ranger?

Given the constant babysitting I need to do with the ā€intelligentā€ cruise in my 2024 Ranger, I’m a bit hesitant to let Bluecruise take the wheel. The lane keeping is decent, but the truck seems to have a real problem misreading speed limit signs - either it reads an exit ramp sign when I’m not...
  3. Thank you everyone.

I can’t help but feel somewhat responsible…. It’s a good looking truck for sure. I passed 1600 km on mine on the weekend, so it’s now officially broken in for towing. Unfortunately my trailer is still stuck in the glacier next to our garage so it’ll still be a bit.
  4. Time to Move On

I paid cash on this one, but I do remember the sales guy had his worksheet all ready at 4.9% for 60 months…. Glad I had the dollars available. Financing deals are still a bit hard to come by up here, unless you’re looking at a model that’s due for a redesign.
  5. Time to Move On

You might be pleasantly surprised. I actually feel like the 2024 fits in our garage better than the 2019 did. Part of that might be the front camera though, it really helps me use every spare inch. I did find that my 2024 is a bit taller, I whacked the antenna on the bottom edge of the garage...
  6. Time to Move On

I found my 2019 to be an overall rougher ride. In this part of the world our roads take a beating during winter, lots of frost heaves and potholes. In the 2019 you felt every jolt, and I also felt the ā€œfloatingā€ sensation on bigger bumps, as though the truck never quite knew which direction it...
  7. Time to Move On

Sorry for the delay, weather here yesterday was crap but we took a road trip to the mountains today and things were a bit better.
  8. Time to Move On

We got the 2.3l. I did briefly consider getting the 2.7 but decided that I never really felt that we were hurting for power in the old 2019 with the 2.3 even when towing our travel trailer So going with the same engine would save a few dollars for other goodies.
  9. Time to Move On

We’re in the Edmonton area, but we’ve been talking about a trip north fairly soon. I’ve never been as far up as High Level but the drive up into the NWT looks pretty epic. Have a few things to do to get the new truck ready for camping, planning on putting a cap on her to make it easier to...
  10. Time to Move On

Just to give you guys an idea how the other half lives, they also had a Shelter Green Raptor in the showroom. Beautiful truck, but there aren’t many dunes to run this far north, and at $84,000 sticker there’s no chance. Don’t know if they were selling at/below sticker, but I do know there’s...
  11. Time to Move On

Keeping in mind that this is all Canadian Monopoly money…. Sticker was a touch over $57,000, got them to come down from that and they also gave me $24k on the trade. Cost $32k out the door including tax. Best dealer experience I ever had, think it was the first time I ever left happy after...
  12. Time to Move On

Well, I enjoyed my time in my 2019, but finally decided the time was right to move on. I took delivery on a 2024 Ranger XLT FX4 last week, and so far I’m really liking the upgrade. The ride quality seems to be much improved and once the snow melts I’m sure that the new one will be as much fun...
  13. Ranger wins Edmunds best truck 2025

I’m also in the market, I love my 2019 XLT but sheā€˜s off warranty and seems like only a matter of time before someone on either side of the border slaps a massive tariff on new vehicles. These things are expensive enough as it is. The field is narrowed to the Ranger and Colorado/Canyon, none...
  14. Buyers remorse? MPG

Litres per 100km solves this problem. Doesn’t ā€œI hit 22 l/100km on my last tripā€ sound a lot better than ā€œI only got 11 MPG, my truck is a pile of junk.ā€? At least, I keep telling myself that…
  15. 12V Cooler

Our Iceco VL60 Pro has been great. We’ve used it on several trips up to 2 weeks at a time and it holds temps well. On long trips we use it as a freezer to keep frozen food and to refreeze ice packs for a Pelican cooler for our fresh food. We also use it in the basement at home as extra fridge...
  16. Morimoto XB LED

Not familiar with the Morimoto instructions, but I just installed a set of AlphaRex over the weekend and the last step in their instructions is to turn off the daylights in the Settings menu on the dash so that the ā€œstripā€œ lights are the only ones that show for DRLs.. Unfortunately, those of us...
  17. Anyone Try the new Anzo Headlights?

For those of us up in the frozen tundra, TDot Performance carries these, ships from Canada: https://www.tdotperformance.ca/products/anzo-111614-projector-headlights-with-clear-lens.html This conversation came about 2 days too late for me - I hit a bird last weekend and punched a perfect...
  18. Letter From Lawyers

I’d be more impressed if they could at least get the model years right…. 2018?
  19. Mid Size Truck Campers

I had an A-frame hard side pop-up fir a few years. On the plus side it was definitely tall enough to stand easily inside, and a bit more ā€œsolidā€ than a tent trailer, and was pretty easy to tow - it was pretty light and the Ranger is just tall enough to see over top of the trailer. A couple of...
