  1. Fuel in oil

I would think that changing the oil more often (3000 miles) with a standard oil is better than using a full synthetic oil for extended oil changes. I guess using full synthetic and changing oil sooner might be better, but awfully expensive.
  2. oil level observations on a new truck

We don't need Ford Ranger fanboys doing Ford's PR job for them. Ford denied there was a problem with the Pinto's gas tank and the Focus transmission. Until too many exploding Pintos and shaking Foci forced them to acknowledge they had a problem. Any fuel getting into the oil is not ideal.
  3. oil level observations on a new truck

I was making no attempt at clearing up anything other than you likely don't know what you are talking about.
  4. oil level observations on a new truck

Small sample size. And a sample of Ranger5G members only.

  6. Fuel in oil

    How do you know that?
  7. oil level observations on a new truck

You have no way of knowing that oil dilution is a problem on only a small number of trucks. And there is no proof other than a few posters here speculating that driving style is the cause. Driving style is not an acceptable reason for fuel dilution.
  8. Are engine enhancing oil additives a gimmick?

Does that mean adding STP could help with the damage oil dilution is doing by increasing viscosity?
  9. Disappointed In "The Works"

Maybe I am wrong, but I doubt Ford Quicklanes actually use certified mechanics for oil changes and tire rotations.
  10. Disappointed In "The Works"

My point is, train your employees. Very basic request. I don't have time or desire to change my truck's oil and rotate the tires.
  11. Disappointed In "The Works"

Just took my Ranger for an oil change at a Ford dealership and they topped off all the fluids. Why in the world would a vehicle with fewer than 20k miles need any topping off? So my fluids are above the recommended levels. If Ford dealerships aren't going to train their employees any better...
  12. K&N

I have 280k miles on a 17 year old Tundra and have had a K&N direct replacement filter since 19k miles. Not sure about any gas mileage or performance improvements, but it sure has saved me some money over the years by not having to buy new air filters. That said, I think I'll stick with a...
  13. LIGHTNING BLUE Ranger Club Thread

How easy was it to remove FX4 stickers? Any tips?
  14. Former Tacoma Owners Club

While not a Taco owner, my ride for the past 16 years has been a 2003 Tundra. It has 280k trouble-free miles. Honestly, if either the Tacoma or Tundra weren't so ancient, I would have likely bought one instead of a Ranger.
