Never said I was going to leave. Name calling and slinging insults? I may have called a couple posters "Ford fanboys" but that is kind of mild.
I admit to getting a little testy when I read the "ignore it" comments or when those without the issue make light of the comments of those who do have...
Are we just making stupid comments now? Some have oil dilution issues. Ford isn't doing anything about it. In fact, they are covering it up in some (most?) cases. But go ahead, make jokes that no one understands because your Ranger isn't one of those affected.
But I will miss all you Ford fanboys who like to try to convince those of us with an oil dilution issue to stick our heads in the sand like you.
"It's your fault because you don't drive it right. Ranger's aren't meant to be driven short distances or slow. That is why Ford clearly states that...
Since Ford is refusing to do anything about this issue, I am forced to change my oil much sooner than recommended (and incur additional costs) until I can unload this POS for something else. Unfortunately, with the supply chain issues, I likely am stuck with this thing for at least another year...
I am not convinced this issue is being documented. I mention it every time I get an oil change and it never makes it on the service order. I called Ford Customer Service. They called the dealer, and they had no record of my complaints. Finally, Customer Service called back and said they wouldn't...
Exactly. I am told by Ford and the dealer that they aren't seeing complaints about this. But by not recording the customer requests to have it looked into, how would they? It sounds like a cover-up by Ford.
Please move the Mustang discussion to another thread. It reduces the credibility of the claim that there are over 150 pages where oil dilution is being discussed if it is taken over by non-oil dilution posts.
But how much does a new one cost? I paid $6000 less than MSRP two years ago. I have heard MSRP plus now. Besides, why would someone with an oil dilution problem, which Ford is ignoring, buy another Ford? Ever?
As for the same comment I keep reading about engines not blowing up, most people posting have fewer than 36k on the odometer. What will happen at 100k miles?
I noticed you are in Tennessee too. Please post if your dealer actually does anything about your complaint.
The two dealers I have talked to refused to do anything about it. They didn't even care about the Blackstone report. Ford Customer Service told me they wouldn't do anything for me either.
After my local dealer refused to do anything about my reported oil dilution issue, I spent a few hours talking to Ford Customer Service about what, if anything, Ford was prepared to do. The final answer is, they will not do anything about it. They will not pay for an oil analysis.
I have 27k miles on my truck. I drive 30+ to work, so not a warming-up issue. I have had three Blackstone tests and five oil changes. Blackstone oil dilution results: 2%, 2.5% and 3.3%. Since I change the oil every 5000 miles, I imagine there would be 6.6% fuel in the oil if I took Ford's advice...
Okay, I was wrong in my assumption.
I don't claim to know the answer. I am not a mechanic. Thank you for sharing your knowledge based on actual experience.
My issue is not with you, but with Ford. Maybe Ford has addressed this issue, but I am not aware of it.
Are you British or did you just cut and paste from someone who is British? Here in America we spell it behavior.
Which kind of gets to my point. Everyone is simply taking the same "analysis" from other sites. How do we know if any of that analysis is factual or based on actual data? Has Ford...
